Neil deGrasse Tyson needs to be set straight about Scientology abuses

Saying that scientology is like any other religion because they all have supernatural beliefs is like saying that Neil deGrasse Tyson is just like The Internet hate machine because they both say scientology is like any other religion.

Breitbart is calling Neil Degrasse Tyson stupid? I suspect they understand irony about as well as the CoS does.

Words can be used to clarify and befuddle. I smell some befuddling or equivocation involving the word "like" in these bad arguments.

Two things can have a similarity while also retaining differences. The mere fact that a similarity exists does not mean important differences aren't also present.

Somehow that sentence with the same sentiments isn't as "on a t-shirt" catchy as the earlier sentences.

No. It's not "simple racism". You're just a simple, Jew-minded liberal idiot. The support is that Tyson made a conclusion about Scientology without researching. What kind of scientist makes conclusions without researching?

Ad hominems about me aside, you raise a good point. That is not science. Still, that alone does not prove how Tyson got where he is. That he (arguably) is [a bad scientist | a sometimes sloppy scientist | not really a scientist] is a separate point from how he achieved his star status. "Affirmative action" is a plausible explanation, but of course plausibility alone is inconclusive. Maybe his daddy had money and he bought the attention. Maybe he got hold of dirty pix of somebody and bribed his way into the spotlight. Maybe he got there the old fashioned way by sleeping his way to the top. I don't know, don't care enough to research it, and was just wondering if you knew something or were just spouting off out of your ass.
