    Greeting all - Long time listener, first time caller. I'm In the "Dirty Nerdy" with no cell in my area. I'm up for creating a cell, or any help I can give with any project. Background in security, i.e.-installation , security cams and software for them, a little networking, have a knack for gathering intel, yada, yada, blah. Worked for communications companies outfitting bare POLICE cars into the "cruisers" they become. Save your steam if ya wanna call me a pig. Think more of a double agent. Everyone wants to know how they operate from the inside, no? Also experience in radio comms (HAM/VHF/UHF/AM/FM/CB/SSB) So now I'm independent, and looking to keep skills sharp since I was sickened and had to step away from the "good 'ol boy" system. Look up my Twitter/FarceBook, I've been a supporter for some time, but am just now in a position to be able to act.
    * The world has become a depressingly sad place. I have A TON of free time, and I want to help.

    Welcome, but please understand that this flavor of Anon isn't into hacking or any kind of illegal activity like that. This is about peaceful, legal protests and actions. I'm just telling you that in case that was your idea or hopes being here.

    No problem and I didn't mean to come off as rude or judgmental. My apologies if that is what it seemed to be. I was just giving you info about how things go around here.

    Best place to find ways to contribute is to look around in the Planning section or the other sections of this site. The NMA is the best place to ask questions if you got any since trolling and flaming is forbidden in the NMA. (Not to say it doesn't happen, but they do get taken care of if reported.)

    All cool - I knew how you meant it.
    Been looking around the site. I think you guys have done a great job! I can't help but think of an article i read though. The McAfag topic of "Anonymous" in decline over 2013. I'd like to think I'm not blind......seems to me more people are asking about it than ever. I kinda think Anon gives new meaning to the word "Hope". I can only hope I'm folded into the trenches soon!

    I joined mostly to see what this was all about after hearing about the idiots that protested the death of the children murdered. I'm not sure how I feel about some of the language used by posters. It seems like they are a little childish using F*** every other word. It shows a certain lack of intelligence and maturity. I do think what you are attempting to do is important and that is the main thing. Foul comments and language tend to hurt your credibility however

    Welcome to WWP, I agree with your observation that the language here can get salty from time to time.
    However, the members here are brilliant, focused and effective in what they do to tackle injustice, I would be tempted to view them by their actions Moreso than their language.

    The members here are from all backgrounds and age groups so you will see that reflected in the posts.
    As a member you can opt to ignore posters that offend you with their language or opinion.
    Freedom of speech is alive and well here.
    I believe if you lurk about a bit, you will see them with more forgiving eyes

    Hey everyone, just noticed on twitter how Anonymous protected Amanda Todd and really wanted to help out. Before that I knew Anonymous was there and I had some respect cause they fought against bad gov't and lack of freedom and rights but when I saw they actually cared about making the world a better place even down to saving one girl's life on Twitter, I wanted to help out and join the fight. So hopefully I can get some help and find out what I can do.

    The abrasive language is often used to keep people either on their toes, or to ward off those who might otherwise chicken out. You might say it hurts our credibility, but Anons tend to draw attention anyways.

    I guess you could say that we sort wheat from the chaff all the time. That's the primary purpose of trolling and taunting too. If you can't stand to hear what people in your corner are saying to you, then what do you think you can stand listening to your opponent?

    Just as a heads up, Anonymous is a many headed beast. AFAIK (As far as I know) There was no op coordinated here to help Amanda Todd or anything like that. It's possible I could be wrong, I haven't been on too much lately.

    Like I said, keep in mind that not all Anons are the same. This area, the NMA is friendly with no trolling to answer serious questions by newfags, but keep in mind, Anonymous is not your friend.

    tl;dr if you are here to find virtual buddies to sing Kumbaya, this is not the place for that.

    That being said, we as the community, are here to assist newfags interested in the forums. If any of the jargon used above confuses you, you can ask questions in our, "Still got Questions" thread, also found in the New Members Area.

    My name is musing. I've been absolutely enthralled with this group ever since I first researched you guy, but didn't get the guts to join til' now. I want to be apart of something that isn't normal and when I say normal I mean brainwashed. I don't have a local cell to report to, so I was wondering if you can start a cell. Also, I came here for advice on a situation happening in my community if anyone can help.

    Have a good look through Planning to see if there is a cell to suit your location, if not take a look in the thread below and post a shout out to people in your area. As to starting a cell, if you find the numbers, why not? It may be easier and safer joining an established cell even if it means a little extra travel to protest.

    Welcome. You can try the Planning section to see if there are other Anons in your area. You can also ask questions in the NMA Q&A Section as well.

    Welcome. While what you say about foul language is true, you have to understand where this flavor of Anon comes from. Chanology (this Anon) has roots in 4Chan's random board. If you ever have been there, you know what it is like. If you never have heard of that place... Then avoid it like a plague because it didn't get the distinction of being the "A-hole of the internet" for nothing.

    While I myself am guilty of using bad words (had to replace the N-bomb for "Jawas"), my advice is not to bring attention to it outside the NMA. People can get rather defensive about it and may troll you big time.
