I live in the UK and apart from the equal marriage fiasco / debate that is currently raging like a deranged kid with a box of matches the (not so) gorgeous Theresa May MP is still pushing through her 'Communications Data Bill' as copied and pasted below:

The controversial web monitoring proposals in the bill, which opponents call a "snooper's charter", will require internet and phone companies to track the records of every citizen's web and mobile phone use, including social networking sites, without retaining their content, and store them for 12 months.

This really scares me. To me it's like saying " I want copies of all teh post that has been sent to you over the past year. I wont look at it unless I feel the need to do so. Therefore you have nothing to worry about. i only want copies of everyone's post because there might be 0.0000000001% of stuff in there that is useful for law enforcement purposes.
