New Theme - Operation: Sea ARRRGH (aka Fleet Week) UPDATE: This theme seems to be getting some traction, so please post and help us determine a date in June UPDATE 2: From: Scientology holidays - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia June 6: Maiden Voyage Anniversary The church describes this holiday thus: "On this date in 1988, the Sea Org Motor Vessel Freewinds began her maiden voyage, during which New OT VIII was released publicly. In memory of that day, OT VIII completions convene aboard the Freewinds for a week of special briefings and acknowledgments to new OT VIII completions for their work in disseminating and expanding Scientology." If nothing else, this confirms that we MUST do this in June. June 7th then? UPDATE 3: Release of the official (well, as official as Anon gets...) Sea Org vs. Sea Arrrgh promotional video: Join the Sea Arrrgh, make yer mark and fly the colors -- June 14 protest of the Cult of Scientology. on Vimeo Operation: SEA ARRRRRGH! (Or Sea ARRRGH!) would be based on the absurdity and visciousness of the actions of the Sea Org. We bring full-bore mockery against Hubbard and Miscavage's private "navy". Everyone could wear pirate hats and eye patches and bandanas over their regular costumes and laugh like pirates at that Sea Org. As all good pirates, we lay seige to their Orgs, and demand their booty. Plus I think the public would love it, allowing us to explain what the Sea Org is to joe public and really open some eyes. There seems to be a push for more "fun" protest themes, and I believe this is the ticket. Plus there is plenty of fodder here for serious discussion: * The billion year contract * Poor wages * Coerced abortions * A religion with a NAVY? * The Freewinds and it's documented pollution (nice way to CLEAR the planet) etc, etc. Tell me you don't love this. This is better than 6/7 due to graduations and the parties surrounding that, plus it's bound to be warmer for us in the northern regions. That's my $.02 anyway.
