    Hold on! If corporations are persons, why not charge them personal income tax rates?

    I do not mind if the protests were legal meaning that they were atking place in designated areas (sidewalks). But the protests became illegal because the protestors were blocking the traffic and refusing to leave the area when were asked to do so.

    As this is such an all encompassing issue so complex that it would take years for something to be done.

    How long will these Occupy's go on for?
    as could do with some help for the Petition which has less than 24 days to run.....

    This protest is similar to Anacostia in the 30's. Lots of people out of work and out of a house, are just there because there is nothing else for them.

    Doesn't quite make sense, in your context.

    quasi-intellectual, obvious troll is obvious, and actaully a retard.

    "And what these screaming, crazy leftist monkeys are trying to achieve when they fight for a single banana? They are ready to tore that thing into pieces without realizing that any of them will get a tiny portion of the fruit. They want equal distribution of the nation's gross income which would make them rich, so they think. But they are poor mathematicians, they do not understand that equality leads to everyone being poor.
    They tried that theory in my native Russia when Lenin said that every Communist monkey will be so rich that it would be able to buy a toilet made of gold. The monkey got a broken toilet insted with 10 people on it taking shit at the same time.
    Socialism does not work, period. We, the Russians, Polaks, Romanians, etc,. welcome capitalist system with open arms"

    BTW, this thread is "Updates". Blathering should be done in the other thread. Take your fingers out of your ears and the bag off your head and leave discussion about updates to adults.
    I'll go re-post in your special thread and won't respond to you here again.

    There is a big difference between some people stepping off the sidewalk and a riot. Please note no permit was needed. In addition, "refusing to leave the area when asked"? This was a protest, not a high school pep rally. They protest.
    The only positive note here is that the NYC police did not use batons and riot gear. These were US citizens engaging in thier constitutional right of assembly. Pepper spray was inappropriate. Hopefully officer Balony will face charges for his illegal assault on restrained civilians.

    bankers = jewish
    jewish = circumsized
    circumsized = no foreskin
    no foreskin = can't be doxed

    Fascinating.

    Enjoy your political moshpit ITT, but keep the ad homs to a minimum or it's going to the dome. Please use the updates thread for new information if you don't want it to get lost.
  18. I say we take off and nuke the whole thread from orbit.

    Besides, wtf is "anti-capitalistic" about getting rid of corporate personhood? That'd be the most capitalistic thing to do.

    No! We will not allow neo con derails to put this thread into COMIX territory. There is a lot of good discussion here about political beliefs. Not exactly about OccupyWallStreet but pertinent.

    I agree, there is no constitutional authority to grant person-hood to a corporation. the question is; how do you go about removing it? -- Srsly, what are the occupiers thoughts on how to proceed with that?
  26. Glenn Beck Member

    I haven't seen any neocons ITT. Have you?

    Glenn Beck, you stare at yourself in the mirror enough that I know this statement isn't true.

    Wow, it looks like they almost had as many people today as they did last Tuesday. Fucking miracles.

    I'm not against protesting, I just don't care for misleading propaganda, this is a call for a socialist revolution. Just say it.

    ummm.....repeal the law that granted it?

    Just sayin'.

    So we pass a law and *POOF*, suddenly the majority of the worlds wealth magickly transforms into nice little workable pieces? Don't worry about those silly multinational corporations, there's magick involved.

    There will need to be rules, what specifically are they and how do we transform into it?

    Again I will say it. Personhood, it never should have happened (in the federal sense). Someones ass should always be on the line.

    No, not "pass" a law. REPEAL a law.
    Actually, quite a few laws need repealed.
    And reinstating the Glass-Stegal Act wouldn't hurt, either.
    And if the corps don't like it, they can leave. The sooner the looters are out of our country, the sooner we can pick up the pieces and fix this shit. I could care less how other countries decide to deal with them.

    Would that it were so simple.
    The PTB* would never repeal such a useful tool for looting. Not before they came up with a replacement first.
