You can't see who likes/dislikes posts anymore?
No prob, I'm just gonna be sitting over here nursing the mother of all hangovers for a while...
ok, I just found the customize feature and I am trying the " '70s look" brown and gray. Better than the blue.
I can live with this color combo.
Better on the eyes. You can toss the lime green and coral colors tho. BLURP!
holy crap! fiddled around with the color slide bar thingy now I mm stuck with a putrid eye bleach AQUA and grey halp!!!!
How do you change it back?
ohh it went back to brown and gray. cool IDK how,
I like this combo
nope! back to blue when you go to another thread, uhhhg!
guess the customize thing doesn't work quite yet
Once again: I go away one day and...
Well, I can't complain. So far, nothing is bad about this and it has fixed the whole 404 issues I was having here. Keep up the good work Sue!
Agree. Mine were still bleeding until I switched to "metro". I usually embrace change, but, seriously, the contrast of blue/white triggered a real-life migraine.
In an attempt the change the new grey text color back to black I clicked on Metro on the bottom left and now everything looks as it was before. If you can make the text in the new style black I'll change it back.
Style 'Mobile WHY' is quite nice.
Okay, I have tried, but UGH. HORRIBLE.
Main Forum page: TOO MANY BOXES, TOO MANY IMAGES. Confusing. Your eyes can't make sense of it. The most recent messages don't display in a way you can really see what it is, and the box with the avatar for the last poster is too big. They two sub-boxes just don't look related. AWFUL. These damn boxes take a whole lot of scrolling as well, since they take up so much real estate. Why can't we have a LIST rather than a jumble of boxes? Having pictures may be zoomy, but you can't read the words for SHIT. Truncating the recent messages to fit in an awkwardly shaped box makes it a useless feature. Smaller boxes for the avatar of the last poster, please, and more horizontally oriented boxes for the text so you can actually fit text IN there.
Since I am also on a tablet, tried the mobile style, but you lose a lot of information. It strips away the most recent message info from the forum page, and I totally lost the announcement and link to this thread at the top. I much prefer the way the mobile style presents itself, it's a lot cleaner and easier on the eye (GAWD NO BOXES), but I want to see the same information that I did on the old forum page. If it had the same content as the desktop versions, I'd totally be using it.
Once I get into the thread I want, the interface is ok, just want the full array of buttons back, and the ability to see who pushed them.
AND THANK GOD I COULD GET RID OF THE AWFUL BLUE MESS.
I will not be here very much if I have to navigate that awful seemingly endless and totally unreadable box on box on box on box front page.
TL;dr: Make the pictures less prominent, the WORDS (you know, the CONTENT) more prominent and easier to read on the main page. Make the forum list take up less space, more like the mobile layout. Or uncripple the mobile layout so it has the same info as the full versions.
It feel like wearing a condom inside out.

(maybe shoop a GF mask on one or both parties)
I think it ended in tears.
I am going to blame you.
(Yes, I'm a jerk for not putting it in the format you asked for, just wanted to focus on the top level things first and maybe get some feedback from other folks in this thread)
You fucking pirate wench!
Change it back!
I just wish it wasn't half broken and alien right this minute but carry on.
The blue is too bright and makes the titles harder to see on a white background. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just adjust it and have it stay that color, but it's defauting back whenever I open a new page.
I'm going to the moon to see what it looks like from there
nope, same gay shit
I changed the color and it seems to be working fine across the board (switched to more of a powder blue, easier on the eyes). I'm on chrome/windows, you?
This will be a long road.
I am not playing.
At first I was like
after I start browsing
Thanks Sue,champagne is on me tonight.
By the way, I use the Search a lot, and the one change that I wanted to see with the old forum was to allow us to search for keywords with only three letters. As it stands now, these search results say "The search could not be completed because the search keywords were too short, too long, or too common."
'tis a barbarous age.
I'm sure pure Aesthetes such as rof, RO and I would long for the elegant, simple lines and willowy forms of an Aubrey Beardsley or a Rennie Mackintosh, but chacun a son gout.
I now cannot view any document uploaded to WWP. Broken doc symbol on all 3 styles. Error message on one style.
Given that I upload dox a lot, and need to be able to check what I've uploaded, plus go back to dox to view them when others discuss them, this is a problem. I won't be posting any more dox until this is resolved.
I will leave a discussion of major usability issues with Metro for later.
I don't care about the layout - It is what it is. Thanks to all the people who have put great effort into getting it together .. Nothing is perfect. And It'll take time to tweak things .. All good things take time. IMHO .. It's the people here and what the site represents to me that counts the most - The rest is just window dressing. ROCK ON
All document images in the Martin Ottmann forum seem to be broken. It has become useless.
The design looks like one of these pre-fabricated websolutions "for only $29.99". Horrible. A discussion forum does not need to look "fancy" (whatever that may be). It needs to be functional. Good-bye for now.
Guys, I think it's probably safe for us to assume that the "uploaded documents and images not visible" thing is a bug, rather than an intentional feature, and will doubtless be fixed by our noble admins once they're awake, sober, and not fapping to web porn or otherwise busy with more important things such as Real Life.
He's right. The scanned images in his threads show up as broken image icons.
I'm sure it's temporary.
And likewise my dox post area:
Lets see what happens over the next few days yeah - Give them time to fix things HR ..
Have you tried turning it off an on again?
Hey Sue .. Don't forget to give Scandinavia (Not Skandinavia) a Flag ... And may I suggest a "Montage" of flags for "Other Counties"
Looking at the front page makes me feel like I accidentally wandered into a 1981 era Atari video game, or maybe I am taking part in a Jr. High science fair project pasted up on a big piece of cardboard. There is something remarkably primitive in the graphics, which seems quite jarring and at odds with the sophisticated banter, wry humor and world weary idealism that characterizes Anonymous. (On the other hand, I suppose Anons can also be sophomoric, puerile, nerdy and bullying, which the new theme reflects beautifully.)
Personally, you could lard the site with pictures of the mod's dung, and I'd go with it, because Why We Protest is what is important, and I am grateful for the work, money and time that goes into Keeping Anon Working. (Although looking at Norris' greasy mug the other day over and over again did make me queasy enough within a few minutes to sign off and get some dusting done that I've been putting off for 5 or 6 years.) So if it is practical, cheaper, or easier or whatever, then fine. However, in a minor everyday way, aesthetics do count and if you ever wished to go for a bit of beauty, this ain't it.
On the other hand, this could be considered quite racy for a game of Pong.
not sure if sue is trolling or... ?.jpg
FWIW, I for one would be most unhappy to see you here less frequently. For a less vertigo inducing experience try the customising button, I have found the pale grey/dark grey scheme helps.
