The legal perspective is a great way (imho the only way) to actually attack the Cults status a religion.

Read #79's post, it has some good points. The doc ancientone provided is one of they ways we can figure out how legally to declassify them as a religion.

But I am sure this is already being adressed through the Sklars case?

No, that's exactly right. Beliefs are irrelevant, and this just helps they're "you hate us because we're weird" routine.

We don't care what their (purported) beliefs are. The Raelians think Jesus is an alien and that the alien gods want them to have orgies...but they're not making kids do hard labor or collecting government money pretending to be secular, or trying to obliterate their enemeis.

Scientology is dangerous to its members and its detractors- that's the message that needs to go out.

dissemination of information does NOT including getting information to people who participate in organized religion now?

want to do it in a secular way?

then use the Sklar case to point out the unfair tax breaks the Co$ gets that a JUDGE stated violates the Establishment Clause in the 1st Amendment

getting Organized Religions to petition the IRS for the same tax breaks has great weight , EPIC weight even

    and LEST WE FORGET

Scientology is ONLY a religion to shield it self from the criticisms it was deluged by when it was passing itself of as "the science of the mind" and "self improvement"
    it is NOT a religion
it is a Self help psuedo science SCAM, that through illegal and shady means got itslef declared a religion

The Klan and Neo-Nazis have tried this ploy a number of times and have been shot down because they lacked the INFILTRATION of the IRS

Getting religious groups spun up about frauds that use non profit status to fleece members is a good thing.

In 1997 I hand addressed postcards to 2/3rds of every listing for a church in the USA I could find, using a CD rom address listing.. sending them a link to Hubbard's voice saying: The man on the cross there was no christ" LINK

I consider this a good thing to do.
