People living in the US, UK, and other countries with relatively free and civil societies don't necessary long for advocates. What they want is accountability. No government is perfect. Sometimes I just wonder what kind of scattershot caused Anonymous to completely lose focus in such an awful way. Every two or three days, without fail, there is another 'cause' and another 'campaign' being championed by 'Anonymous', and evey time, a week later, it is forgotten in favor of 20 new ones that popped up. And then, to make it even more laughable, any time anything epic happens in the world, it is suddenly the direct result of said fad Anonymous campaign. I remember in 2008, Anonymous launched Project Chanology, which we all thought would last a few weeks at most, but ended up being an unprecedented movement that lasted three years. It is unfortunate that that Anonymous is gone now. Lost to arrogance, self-righteousness, and an inflated sense of grandeur. Way to go guys. You have elevated yourselves into irrelevance.

They think, like in the case of the OP, that Anonymous can be convinced somehow to right all the wrongs in the world. Well, that isn't the case. Anonymous is a collective of people with different thoughts and opinions. Some of these thoughts and opinions everybody in Anonymous can roughly agree on. (ie: Scientology's evils, Wikileaks continuous support) However, we may not agree on how to deal with these issues. In some cases, Anonymous can't agree on one thing and WWP gets a thread like the the Wisconsin GOP one. TL;DR: Anonymous does as it pleases, when it pleases, how it pleases, and why it pleases. The OP's Braveheart Thunder-Outta-My-Ass post and several other PA speeches by newfags deserves the ridicule and mockery it gets. The people that say that know little about Anonymous, Whether that is true or not depends on a case-by-case basis. It has survived this long because Scientology still survives. Scientology has been weakened and maybe mortally wounded. However the fight goes on. Now Anonymous has another fight: Defending the net against influences that would destroy free speech and information. While Scientology and Free Speech are one in the same, the fight just has a new front: Wikileaks, in addition to the battles in Iran, Libya, Egypt, and elsewhere... The mobilization began with Scientology, but it continues in new fronts. No, Anonymous is not irrelevant. Anonymous is still here. Just because every few days a newfag does some grandstanding, that doesn't mean Anonymous has a sense of grandeur. Point is: If that is what you think, then you are more than welcome to GTFO. Just don't let the screen door hit you on your ass on the way out.
