Re: Operation: Pink Noise good job. honestly there are so many things CO$ does wrong thre are so many angles the public needs to be made aware of and this is just one of them ya know. Hopefully we can get this out to the LGBT community
Re: Operation: Pink Noise FYI for any of you lurkers. A.Non Hubbard posted the following on his website. It shows a screen shot of the new 2007 Version of Dianetics referencing two LONG dead men as the basis of their belief in homosexuality being an illness.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise B O A R D T E C H N I C A L B U L L E T I N 24 DECEMBER 1 972R Issue I Revised & Reissued 18 July 1974 as BTB THE BASIC INTEGRITY LIST (...) 19. Re: Operation: Pink Noise It looks like the screenshot from Amazon is from 2002 version. I don't want to buy a 2007 version since that lines the cult's pockets, and it's not likely in a lib'ary already.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Just to update on my progress since this thread was bumped: - Assigned spokesperson spoke to the Gay Straight Alliance at college- they were mildly intrigued but went onto say "it's their own fault for entering Scientology in the first place". - Been informed our spokesperson has the oppurtunity to do a presentation on Monday so have started slapping this up for him as well as creating a simplified information pack (for beginners and for those with short attention spans, basically) which I will be e-mailing to each member of the Alliance- as well as giving them the option to receive the general info pack (UK) as well as inviting them to e-mail me if they have any further queries. - Depending on the attitude the majority of the Alliance take on then I will decide what action to take/ to not take it any further. For those who are left interested against the majority I will simply inform them on how they can participate in protesting/ spreading awareness. Ultimately they would take an interest and co-operate in researching for themselves a little more and getting in contact with LGBT organisations, spread awareness to the public and possibly even protest... Ultimately, however.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise The problem is, the way the LGBT see it, most religions are anti-queer. Scientology would be just another one of them. Focus on the fact that homosexuals are lost causes (there's an LRH bulletin on this) and are as such SPs (and then note Fair Game).
Re: Operation: Pink Noise In the pack I quoted this in response to it, before elaborating on it a bit more: The [majority of] examples [out of 5] I give prior in the pack also back this up and so I link back a lot to them. Unfortunately for them [the Co$] there is too much evidence for us to respond in counter to such a claim
Re: Operation: Pink Noise In case you missed it and want some sort of gay version of the Anon logo: http://forums.whyweprotest.net/11-f...-media/logos-flags-gay-outreach-useage-11086/
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Do you think you could make that a more non-AdobeIllustratorowning friendly file please? Better- chuck it up on an image-hosting site and plaster it directly here. I tried it in Photoshop to no avail and nothing else worked.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Not sure if this is any use at the moment, but for the sake of shared intelligence: Our most notorious Old Guard here in the Netherlands, Karin Spaink, is as queer as the proverbial three dollar bill and very active in gay rights. She's the one who got sued over the XS4all/Xenu/Fishman debacle and won. She also joins our raids/pickets whenever she can and does regular interviews on the topic of Scientology. If Anonymous ever needs a spokesperson who is actually queer, she's the one to ask. (Could be necessary at some point, seeing as a lot of media outlets tend to get their panties in a bunch over straight people fighting for gay rights.)
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Neglected thread has been neglected. Mouseyhair, I think I know when that might come in handy, though none of it's confirmed or anything, so I shush on that. Also, fail. Gay Straight Alliance, who cancelled on us on last Monday and then said we could do this Monday- forgot that it's frickin' May Day bank holiday... and week after that I start exams, so this won't be happening for like a month now... due to thetans ¬_¬ Though info pack which I've been neglecting for the last week due to a brief bout of insomnia should be well on its way soon enough- though also being halted by that one of the people working with me on it still hasn't finished their part and until I have it my motivation has gone zilchy.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Have you any idea what their level of understanding is? Are the facts outlined in the letter common knowledge in LGBT circles?
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Haven't had a real chance to talk to them yet or anything, our spokesperson was very vague about what they told him and what he said in response (seemed to be nil in fact for his part), but I know him quite well and I've got this horrible feeling he just stood there shrugging to everything they queried on... Atm, exams and stuff are flustering me, so gotta wait a bit... then realised the issue the spokesperson is leaving college in a few weeks... so I'm a little... screwed. I may give up on it anyway because the general response from them was that they couldn't be bothered to deal with any such thing- which makes me wonder what the hell it is they actually /do/. May move onto more expansive organisations, this doesn't seem to be working...
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Bump for rapidly approaching Pride month. Srsly, I know our June global focus is Sea Arrgh, but June is the BEST time to reach out to/educate the LGBT community. In my city, our local org is actually just a block away from the main LGBT neighborhood/barstrip! And hardly any of them know what's going on in that building. I've been talking to people and trying to educate where I can, but some more resources/handouts/posters/etc. would really help. BAC
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Is that just in America or something? Never heard of it before here in the UK... But seems like a good idea- and you could have gay pirates!
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Huh. Maybe it's a North America thing. Def. US and Canada. But yes, June is "Pride month" on this side of the pond, so it's a good time to focus on it. BAC
Re: Operation: Pink Noise London Pride Saturday 5th July. Manchester Pride 15th-25th August (big weekend 22-25th August) Brighton Pride 26th July - 3rd August 2008 (parade and park event Saturday 2nd August)
Re: Operation: Pink Noise As requested I've uploaded an Illustrator 10 EPS version of the gay version of the Anon logo and flag (a couple of versions to pick from), should be easier (for some) to work with: AnonFlagGay.eps @ Rapidshare
Re: Operation: Pink Noise May have to make mehself one of those =D Can't do colour prints of anything so wouldn't be effective any other way than to manually make it myself =\ Here in Britain Pride shiz is all over the place, so bit complicated to do in June for us...
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Gay Pride West Hollywood, Jun 6-8. Festival Fri S at Sun. Pride parade Sat June 7. SoCal Anons are readying our finery and fliers. "Celebrating the culmination of its three-year theme, "Our Agenda: Love. Equality. PRIDE.", LA PRIDE 2008's message is about taking pride in who you are, your family, your community, and the world around you."
Re: Operation: Pink Noise In one of my original posts I suggested contacting the list of people with the letter. I don't think it took off at the time. Are UK based anons up for this? I believe it would be well worth our while to bring this to the attention of people like Stephen Fry and Sir Elton John. Those elsewhere, can you get this off the ground in your territory? There is a post earlier in the thread with suggestions for other influential homosexuals.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Empress, could you post up any gay specific flyer designs. I'm guessing the SOCAL fliers could be used all across the USA. With suitable modification they might be used in Queen's English territories.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Cake, I think we should split this thread in two, one for the pride flyering and one for the letter writing. Could you use your mod powers to extract the flyering posts into a new thread?
Re: Operation: Pink Noise UK anon here with a few weeks going spare =D I may indulge in this therefore, but I can't afford to buy loads and loads of stamps so I may try my best to find reliable online communications... a.k.a email addresses which are actually checked and responded to. I shall possibly start on Monday. Need to do something to keep me busy atm =]
Re: Operation: Pink Noise I have NO flier art skills. The phrase above was taken from the Christopher Street West website. I can prolly put together some snappy prose, but the art is beyond me--maybe Anon masked leather daddies (and mommas), drag queens, everydaygays (think polo shirts and jeans), bulldaggers, baby butches, lipsticks....basically a Tom (and Tammy) of Finland look with Anon masks over a representation/cross section of LGBT members? BUT I am art-challenged, though. Some ideas--PLEASE add any of your own: THERE IS NO RAINBOW FLAG ON "THE BRIDGE" Scientology claims to be open to everyone--everyone who can afford to pay. Unless you are gay. Then you are considered to be a DEVIANT <quote from Dianetics> After leaving Scientology, actor Jason Beghe revealed that his Scientology counselors claimed that a car accident in which the actor was involved was the result of having gay friends. <link to YouTube and an article> While unfortunately some churches are still opposed to LGBT people, Scientology takes things a step further. Scientology desires to isolate and quarantine gays and other "criminals" and those who cannot be fixed by Scientology away from society. Permanently. Sound familiar? <urls, quote> (maybe also LRH quote about"one day there will a law against it but by then the orgs will be the law"? obvious the EXACT QUOTE! I am a little nap addled right now) In addition to being aggressively hostile towards LGBTs, Scientology engages in other practices that violate human rights including forced child labor, false imprisonment, and spying on critics. <urls> Scientology is not considered a religion in <THESE COUNTRIES> In the United States Scientology has a secret arrangement with the IRS that gives it special privlegdes over and above other religions <urls>, despite its human rights abuses and abuse of the tax codes. <url> Write your congressperson and Congressman Harry Waxman <email and snail addys> GET INVOLVED JUNE 14 OPERATION SEA ARRRGH <pirate image> <enturb and your found the card urls> I dunno--this was just off the cuff and I haven had time to look up the correct urls but wanted to write it while brain was sort of functional . Maybe a 3 fold flier? Again I ahve NO ART SKILLS and nO COMPUTER SKILLS, so I need halp here. Changes, thoughts, etcs? Thanks!
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Boston's holding off the Sea Arrrgh protest until the 15th because the gay pride parade is the 14th. On the 14th they'll be flyering and hopefully recruiting. inb4 "butt-pirates" jokes.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise What is awesome about enturbulation is that one doesn't always see what goes on behind the scenes.
Re: Operation: Pink Noise ...wut. Edit: ^Tru dat. <3 Enturb. Anyhow. I forgot I was meant to be doing this shiz today, did laundry instead xD Also, with exams over I should finish off my info pack which is seemingly abandoned within my files >_>...<_< Given up on my college GSA. They're seemingly useless. So yeah, now I research these peoples! TO THE INTERN- o... already thar =D [/faggotryduetoboredom]
Re: Operation: Pink Noise ;_; Nawt a good start. Can't find any other contact details for Russell, being the top of the list, other than suggestions to contact BBC Wales, or try an email address which isn't even looked at by him -facepalm- I perservere! I totally forgot Stephen Fry was in V for Vendetta too =D How very fukken appropriate. From the Pink List, this made me lul: Edit: Done 10 before getting a headache =P Out of that ten I concluded with: - 1 dropped due to outdatedness of the Pink List meaning situational change. - 3 with absolutely nothing found on a conventional/ fairly simple search (haven't tried social networking sites yet, to note- attempting to refrain from these). - 2 fan mail addresses which seem semi-useful in that they claim that occasionally mail is actually responded to. Unknown whether it'd just be automated replies, or whether the celeb actually sits and reads them- or whoever might get handed them. - 1 with nothing found, but another possible entity to contact found. - 2 sets of contact details which look reasonably promising, but nothing set in stone. - 1 quite unreliable looking set of details. This is quite hard without paying for the information... someone should write here, or PM me if more appropriate, if they would like to halp, namely- by being able to pay to get information (it's actually quite cheap, but I'm a poor student and can't even afford that- it's budgets all the time for me). Write here or PM also if you'd like to help out in general, this is actually quite time consuming, and a lot of the time leading to downheartening fail at many turns, occasional dead ends; Could then split the workload, meaning more time spent on individual cases, meaning possibly better results =D
Re: Operation: Pink Noise Okay, I fail. I know I said I was confirmed for brawl but I have a family obligation I have to do on June 7 or else my cousin will disconnect from me and call me an asshole. Family wins.
