I guess it's pretty hard to believe that Tor won't help the damaged, while the undamaged usually don't need help (and if they do, they usually know how, with what or who to ask)
  2. Dragononymous Member

For those who want to argue about the 'other' errors in staying anonymous, including 'errors' in the use of TOr, you may continue now.

You bring up an excellent (if unintended) point.

    n00bs: plz read
if you want to post stories like ^^^^ to impress your WWP friends
for safety's sake, please make up everything from scratch.

posting details about your age, location, and brushes with the law,
kills your anonymity more than it helps your cred.

Dox have a time and place for dropping.
If you can't see how ITT isn't the right venue, don't let the door hit you on the ass.

fine, I won't explain how 'the your enemy' thinks.

How about Operation Ogre? They are complicated, and have many layers. Like Scientology. Or an onion.

    Not the solution

There is a huge difference between "Explaining how the enemy/your enemy/my enemy/etc thinks" and "Let me show you DOX of a moonbat".

You could have explained how you got the information without identifying the person. You could have explained better methods to secure your private information on the internet. You could have explained that while TOR is a good tool, it is not fool proof and should not be the only method of protection...

...Instead, you DOX a moon bat (for all we know, you had the dox long before this discussion or you may in fact BE the moonbat), not provide any information other than generally act like a self-righteous, self-important, know-it-all, faggot of a troll that in general is your M.O.

I think you should look in the mirror on that one.
  11. telomere Member

If his point is that 'TOR is a bad tool', he won't take that option.
But explaining why he believes 'TOR is a bad tool', as clearly as possible, would be more informative than rolling eyes and lashing out randomly.
  12. Dragononymous Member

which is what I did, as I was quoting my own.(according to your way of thinking)

A picture says more than a thousand words.
It explained the way of thinking, the route followed ect.
No-one asks question, no need to answer them.

Not my point at all *sigh*

become what you hate to defend what you love.
Inb4 any comments, no you don't have to stay what you hate.

    OWS/Anarchy style:
Research/Learn the system to know its flaws.

Whoever has questions about that, bloody ask them

Not to be confused with Operation Ew.

  17. we all appreciate your opinion and if you have some valid points about TOR what you can translate and break down for new comers please add. Also respect other anons as moderators and other members have stated lets try and share information and not dissmiss it I dont want to sound melo dramatic but WWP and anons preach often about freedom of speech and information allowing everyone to have access to it. I apologise if this thread is old news or sparked up some trumatic experience for you but not everyone are as well informed as you seem to be.

so honestly please give us an incite into TOR as this thread was made to share information about it not to flame.

What's with you people thinking I've got something against Tor *sigh*...
Tor is good and not hard to use. Yes I use it occasionally,Yes there might be holes in it but people are working on that on a daily basis.
It is adviced for everyone to simply try working with it abit and see if you like it or not.
If you don't, ask people about VPN's/VPS's and other related hard-&software if you feel unsafe online.

All I want to make clear is that to stay anonymous and to remain your anonimity, you'll have to change the way you think and act too.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, if you keep acting the same everywhere, it won't be hard to understand for anyone that you are still you.

The best thing you can do is to become someone they don't know, not to hide yourself from them.

  20. I agree it is important other than using proxys and browsers like tor to also be aware of keeping your passwords and user names from being to generic or giving to much away (or being used frequently on sites where you are not anonymous) having the screen name "BOBcanada123" is an obvious bad choice (sorry bob)

I think we can all agree that TOR alone wont solely keep you anonymous but using it or an equivalent is a step in the right direction.

This is a key factor in anonymity. This should be the first step to start off. Then other things can help you to stay undercover!

If I'm wrong then please tell me what is the first key factor?

None of the browsers' "private browsing" or "incognito" or "in private" modes do anything to shield any info from web servers or even your ISP. Their sole use is to prevent anyone examining the machine belonging to the user who invoked those modes in browsers for traces of browsing history/cookies/etc from seeing it. Hence why controlling parents often baww to the browser vendors about not being able to see what their kids did online.
  27. Strong passwords are key yet remember that anonymous isnt a creed but a facade for everyone to use you are not hiding behind a mask you are creating a persona for the mask. Anonymous1.jpg

I will take at face value that you are a youth, and that your thread is genuine in every way.

This forum has many people that are your parents age (or older), and are professors, lawyers, retired clergy, religious academics, IT specialists, professional researchers, security specialists, and so on. I say this just to illuminate the truth of where you are now as a member. I wish to offer some perspective upon that: some members here have been internet security specialists for longer than you've been alive. To create a thread announcing that you've just learned about TOR is very nice, but starry-eyed. I think it is sweet that you came here with good intentions, and I hope you stay to continue your learning and sharing. I also deeply appreciate the support you've gotten ITT. But, people know a great many things here, and have a diversity of skill sets that - in my opinion - would make your brain explode if you knew. That's the good news. I might suggest to inquire about your interests and pursuits. I suggest to consider this, and ask: what can I do to be secure on the internet?

If you had said this first instead of last I wouldn't think you were an arrogant pompous asshole. Instead of calmly making your valid point, you chose to go internet tough guy and shit up a thread where newbs and others were trying to do what we do here, collaborate and teach each other so we can be more effective in our motherfuckery. You're so awesome.

Fuck you Mark Zuckerberg. Let the kids learn and leave them alone, what need is there for you to be insult and mock them? None.

Strangely enough, this thread isn't about you.

As retarded as your post is, you might take a moment to "do it for the children" and tell the lad why Facebook is counter-privacy. Or something. Productive. Or enlightening. In some way.
  31. Anonymous Member

Is there some point to all the e-peens being shown off in this thread? Is there some reason why you can't just leave this thread to those interested in learning and/or helping them learn? What is wrong with that?
  32. fhqwhgads Member

I see you are confuse. Your teacher is here. What do you want to know. I will not talk about my epeen, but other topics are open. I am listen.
  33. James Spader Member

Well, I'm just throwing my hands in the air over TT cause you good people have mixed your trolling and ad hom so thoroughly with actual substance I would have to go in and edit your posts to take out the garbag--and WWP'ers are a little touchy about having their words on the internet tampered with, amirite?

I know it's like asking cats to bark, but maybe you could just lay off each other and stick to the topic.

I agree that my approach was far from ideal, close to the worst option possible.
Some (or most) of you know that I do deeply care about our newfags and that I will always try my best to protect them in every possible way.
and yes that does sometimes take a lot of patience and sanity, as mentioned earlier by LSP
During my past comments, I was at one of my lowest levels with that. (for Whoever cares, (semi)major setbacks concerning the dutch WWP part never work well.)

My sincere apologies to the ones that I annoyed or scared away, didn't mean to do that...

so Yes, I'm willing to teach and/or explain (new)fags about staying anonymous.
I would prefer questions that are not related to technology, I will admit that, but I won't ignore them either.

    A warning for those who haven't noticed yet though;
I'm that horrible teacher type that likes to talk in riddles and that enjoys to see their students figure out their own problems by testing, trying, testing again and then trying to beat their teacher.
