Anti's got much better pics. Seems like everyone had cameras, so I'm sure there's a lot to come. I didn't take many pictures, but here's what I've got. Consider it just an appetizer.

A very successful raid overall. Pretty much maximum contact with public scilons. I'm sure there were hundreds of them (which will translate to something like 10,000 in the scn news).

The majority of us hung around Green/Raymond, where the buses were dropping off silons, well, by the busload. They mostly ignored us, except for the occasional "fuck off", etc.

I think it was Obamanon who pointed out that the applause from inside the event sounded like it was actually coming from the PA speakers. I'm sure it won't sound that way in the videos because that has to do with the way the sound reflected off the buildings and so forth, but it really did sound fake.

I did get to have a couple actual conversations, though. I spoke to a public scilon leaving the event. It was at least a 10-minute conversation and I don't remember this verbatim, but I did think this little gem was worth sharing:

Me: But what about disconnection? Do you think that policy is okay?

Scn: Well, what if you're in a house full of drug addicts, just a whole family of drug addicts. Wouldn't you want to disconnect from them? Wouldn't you want to disconnect from such a negative influence?

Me: So people who oppose Scientology are like drug addicts?

    Scn: Uh...

Re: Pasadena Ideal Org Opening 18th July 2010 - Post Game

    That was ridiculous!
I showed up just past 6 and forgot the wolf mask but had a V mask on me.
Did the front gate stuff for a bit and then went to go to the back but instead stood at the alley side entrance forever because there was no other anon presence there. Scilons gave me the finger and a group of cholos asked me to pose for a pic and then bought me a shot of Jameson's. Cool guys. Other scilons tried to get cops to come because they said I was on private property which was total B.S.
Anyway, I stopped in a storefront door for an hour and talked to a 20 year Scientologist and his 15 year old son. It was actually incredible. He might be the coolest scilon ever. He listened to every word I had to say I listened to everything he had to say. I dispelled his notions that protesters are paid which took a while. We came to an agreement that he would do more to observe and eradicate the bad stuff that goes on in Scientology and I agreed in part to take another look at what possible positives Scientology might provide. He made a huge argument about the benefits of narcanon and criminon and started spewing statistics. Man... I wish I had that on tape but knew he wouldn't have commed for 2 seconds let alone an hour if I had been filming. I felt it was an hour well spent.

After that was when the fun started. I parked myself at the busses loading up for the attendees leaving with a sign simply stating "Scientology has a Dark Side".
They went nuts and started jumping in front of my sign and bullbaiting.
    Priceless.
    Video's within 24 hours I promise.

That was EPIC. I have totally lost my voice. The soccer mom in me took over and I got carried away telling people to google Heber Jentzch and find out what happened to him. We were standing thisclose to the entrance to the event. We actually got to stand inside the barrier, so the Scientologists waiting to cross the street were basically a captive audience. We got a few people who shook their heads or laughed nervously, and one woman said, "But they do more good than harm!"

    Photos and video incoming.

I'd say we had 30 or so protesters. Excellent.

A very excellent raid. A contingent from San Diego joined us. We had captive public that had to go by us. We shouted things like Where is Heber Jensch?, OT8's are blowing and posting online about it. Where is Debbie Cook, Mike Rinder blew so can you. We had some bullbaiting to a femanon who just ignored them and kept right on shouting. We had AGP and AO. AGP was holding a sign right by the buses as the sheeple were getting out. We also had the woman punching assaulter from the last protest. I hope plenty of seeds of doubt were planted amongst the Scilion public.
    Great raid!!!

I got tailed by every handler in the book. I was the lone anon at the end and shouldn't have let myself get so separated. There were some close calls there. Tim and another handler were parked out about a block from my car which was a good 5 blocks from the event. I had to bob and weave with the stealth.
Also, I have some Kendrick Moxin video but didn't notice until I got home otherwise I would have blurted something obnoxious at him.
    Stay tuned.

Huh, I dunno. I didn't notice at first. Isn't Jason cute? They always have the good-looking guys as security guards at Big Blue, for some reason. I asked him why RFW posted peoples' personal info, and I said it was creepy. He said that the protesters are creepy, and I said, Yeah, but we're not trying to sell the bridge to total freedom or anything.

    Nice photos, Glib.

Beef, I didn't recognize you without your wolf mask. Glad you were able to have an actual conversation with a scn. Good job. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but a scn agreeing that he'll do more to eradicate the bad parts of scientology seems pretty huge. I mean, you can't ask for much more than that out of one conversation.

I also noticed a better level of communication than normal with public scns, though mine were probably less constructive. I actually remember now a better part of that conversation (again, not verbatim):

Me: Don't you find it suspicious, the rates that Scientology charges? They're pretty high.

Scn: Everything costs money. And other religions charge money, too.

Me: A lot less money than Scientology. None of them turn people away from their religious worship because they can't pay. None of them charge increasingly large fees just for access to materials. I can't think of another religious text you have to pay to read.

    Scn: ...

Me: If you guys want to clear the planet, don't you think you should offer auditing and courses for free?

Scn: Nothing is free. Or maybe everything is free. I mean, what is money?

    Me: ...

Convo with the Scilon and his kid was incredible. I tried to stay calm and non-threatening because the guy was really cool and I didn't want to upset the kid or him are scare them off. This is one guy who actually could communicate. It took me taking off my mask, but once I did, he opened up. It was like I was talking to a buddy or an uncle. He leapt on me about my drinking. Some guys at the bar in the alley offered me a shot so I took it and I smelled of it. Might not have been the best idea on an empty stomach. He also said I must be drunk because my face was red... but then I explained that I went hiking for 3 hours today and got a little burnt. Anyway, he seemed to genuinely care which was nice to hear. He made some concessions about Scientology's checkered past and how things might have gotten done wrong or maybe there were some bad eggs. I sincerely asked him to keep an eye out for the present day abuses that still exist and to do everything in his power to stop these patterns. He agreed to and I believed him. I did have to completely squash his defense of CCHR. He's obviously drank the koolaid on that one. He said a few times "they drug babies now!".

You're not the first to think they've had a meaningful convo with a Scientologist. No indeed, been there thought that.

But you know what? It's all scripted. I have talked with Scilons and thought communication had been achieved. But, I was deluded, because I've gone through that same "comm cycle" with several other Scilons. Hey, pattern, ya think?

Anyhoo, don't give it much weight. That script is meant to achieve exactly the type of warm fuzzies you are currently emitting.

It took a conversation just like that to plant the seed of doubt. It took another year for it to germinate and grow.

So no, it's not useless. It may well help. It may not. But the effort is invaluable.
