    It can be easier to find it. Two ways to report spam- "report" button ( mods see), and this thread so people can go to post and down vote. When there isn't a mod on the best way to fight spam is to hide it.

    Usually I downvote the spampost, and post a link here. I used to also put a post in the spamthread which said "reported" but as there is a time lag between two posts I don't do that anymore. Too much spam. :p

    In general: there has been more spam the last few months than I used to notice before. Don't know why.

    If we don't provide a "reported" post, it's likely that others will also report it and this can create numerous spam reports for the moderators to clean up.

    While a down vote is good to see, I think best practice is to provide a "spam reported" post and a down vote.

    I realize that there is a lot of data to handle; the report to the mods, the 'spam reported' post and fetching the post number to post into the Down Vote Thread.

    While sue is make modifications to the site, there are periods when things are slow. When this happens, I just switch over to 'go slow.' ;)
