2. With any luck, the responsible party(ies) will get expelled from the cult. This may be their only hope to GTFO once and for all.
3. Quentinanon Member

Nope. Davey will send them to the "SP Hole" for use as slave labour for many years.

Scientologists Commemorate That Time They Emptied All the Willamette Week Boxes

Excerpt:

WW's cover story on May 30, 1985 was entitled "Scientology on Trial." It's very long, and has been excerpted by an anti-Scientology website, but the subtitle provides a pretty clear indication of where it's going: "Why a Portland jury awarded $39 million in damages against one of the world's most profitable cults."

The following week, Mark L. Zusman opened the paper with a letter from the editor. Here is that letter in full.

Seldom has Willamette Week been in the news as much as it has been over the past week. While the radio, television and daily-newspaper reporting on what occurred has all been accurate, some of it has been incomplete. For the record then:

Last Wednesday, several phone calls were received at our office claiming that Scientologists were seen hauling off many copies of our paper. That week's issue of Willamette Week, which had as its lead story a piece called "Scientology on Trial," had been distributed to 360 racks and boxes in the metro area Wednesday morning. One newsstand clerk told us that a woman walked into the store, identified herself as a Scientologist and attempted to take about 75 copies of the paper. Another man called and said he confronted a fellow at the New Market Theater walking off with a stack of papers. The fellow said he was a Scientologist and "was under orders" to take the papers. Someone else called us to report that a white van with Texas license plates was seen driving up to the downtown branch of the Multnomah County Library. He said three men got out of the van, emptied a Willamette Week box that sits on 10th Avenue, and then drove away.

That evening, we walked through downtown and found more than 25 boxes and racks that were completely empty. On the 11 o'clock KATU news, a spokesman for the Scientologists conceded that members of his organization were responsible. He apologized and promised to return the papers. That evening we ran an additional press run of 3,500 copies and spent the next day refilling the empty boxes. We have no evidence that the Scientologists have returned any newspapers.

Let this be a warning to you, Gizmodo: However many Scientologists are in Portland, they will wreck you.

In LA and Clearwater, OSA orders it's scienobots to go to newspaper boxes whenever an "entheta article" is published, put in money for one copy, but take everything in the box and throw them away. That's "the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics." "Just don't get caught!"

^The lighter areas are the areas most likely photoshopped. Notice in the middle, peoples heads and bodies are clearly defined, but on the left (edited) side there is much more white, indicating manipulation.

In the very back of the picture, the street beyond the ORG has been obscured with lots of confetti.
Looks highly manipulated to me - I see multiple images of trees pasted in behind the front row, and then obscured with lots of digital "confetti" ...
wBdSMcQ.jpg

Oddly, the confetti falls in front of the trees and buildings, but not one piece passes the canopy support pole:

^That's some well behaved confetti!

My prediction for this new Ideal Org is that it is going to fail rather quickly in the next year. Not only did they just drop $32 Million for this building, but they also dropped a lot for the movie permit and paying off the businesses in the area. The Portland Co$ has moved about 4 times in the past few years and I've been to each of them in protest.

There are many reasons why this is going to fail. We are a simple factor in the many.

The Church has already sent operatives into the Silverado (Portland's Primer Gay Club), trying to get patrons to come to the church. I've heard angry responses to this and it's obvious. The church has already begun to wear the police's feelings thin. We already got the police called on us once right after their opening and the officer didn't want to deal with it.

While their location is in a fantastic location, this will also serve at their downfall. There is already a big sentiment against Scientology in the City of Portland, and we've helped with that a lot already. Our protests will be much more informative as we will be on a big road through downtown Portland, which lots of people travel. Many cards were handed out during the protest so people know where to go if they want to help us.

We need to keep informing the people and saving those who may lose their life to this Organization,

Stay strong, Anonymous.

Not photoshop. It's Davey's OT Powerz that keep the confetti on the left side of the canopy pole from the angle of the camera. He rejuvenates his OT abilities every day with a bottle of Laphroaig.

"Confetti tech" is DM's latest gift to mankind!

It has already 5X the attendance at the Portland Ideal Org event!

Below is an example of "confetti tech".

Can you guess what body part the confetti in this photo is hiding?

21. It probably made false claims about what was done to the photo.

A comparison of David Miscavige from Tom Cruice's 2004 medal award and WBM's photo from the Portland opening:

Comparison.jpg

The two photos are 10 years in between, and the angle is somewhat different . The picture with Cruise was shot from with a low angle, Bunker's shot from a balcony a couple of stories up. There are however some interesting differences between the two pictures, despite the difference of angle in the two shots.

• His upper lip seems to have thickened a bit. This may partly be due to him talking in Bunker's shot.
• The brow ridges appear markedly more prominent.
• His nose has grown thicker and longer, particularly the tip.
David Miscavige never was particularly snoutfair, but his somewhat less fortunate traits seems to have become more pronounced. While it is only to expect the soft tissue of a man will age in 10 years, some of the differences between the two shots involve bone and cartilage. As a rule of thumb, the skull, once fully formed, will not change much through life. In very advanced age, the ears and nose may grow a bit, but not Miscavige isn't that old.

I suspect the reason for the apparent growth of brow-ridges, nose and upper lip is steroids. Miscavige is purportedly an avid weight lifter and quite proud of his biceps. Could it be that he has cheated a bit and taken steroids to increase the effect of his work-outs?

Alternatively, he's just ageing fast and not too well.

I noticed on the Silverado's website under Daily Events that every Sunday night is Church of the Poison Mind - what a perfect description of the Church of Scientology.

Gay Pride weekend in Portland is June 15 - 17.

Mod edit: I know this wasn't the worst pic to be posted, but this is a good thread with a lot of visitors so I'm going to keep extra clean. Ok?

Good observations. I would agree with your theory. Since Hubbard didn't say anything against steroids, Davey will keep using them to bulk up. At the current trend he may resemble a Cro-magnon man in 10 years.

Even Xenu can't save the Photoshop skills in this Scientology pic - MSN

Using photo manipulation that even Tom Cruise would likely critique, the Church of Scientology released a photo of a recent rally in Portland, Oregon, that looks like it was created with the Photoshop skills of a graphic designer riddled with thetans.

Here's a new, familiar-sounding press release from the cult:

New Church of Scientology Portland: First Day of Service Rounds off Grand Opening Celebration

On Sunday, May 12, the Church of Scientology held their first day of services, following the grand opening of their new home at 309 SW Third Avenue in Portland.

The press release has links to three large images:

A Mother’s Day Brunch was held in honor of all mothers attending the weekend of events and activities at Portland’s new Church of Scientology.

Nah, it wouldn't do it any good, I doubt any die-hard Tom Cruise devotees care about Scientology.
37. How could it hurt?

That is a different camera angle. Notice the TV screen on the left, you can distinctly see the back of guy wearing suspenders and a few people to his right is a guy with a mostly bald head with a jacket slung over his shoulder. Those two guys can be easily picked out in the crowd, just look for the suspenders. And it kind of looks like the people inbetween/around the two guys are not quite the same as the people on TV screen.

Look in the background in this shot. To what would be the midget's left, behind the jumbotron. On the street. Where's the peeps? Wouldn't they show in that shot if the cult's pic was real? [Shit, I cannot upload properly. Sorry.]
