I don't think it changes anything. America extradites its citizens. I think it's countries like France and Russia won't extradite their citizens.

It's not Jan Eastgate's fault, psychiatrists made her do it........

But there is a picture of her leaving court. Big OSA fail.

Regardless where Jan is going, I bet his poor girl and her mother will be under an immense amount of OSA pressure in the next few months.
If OSA managed to get to Daniel Monalvo, I bet getting to Carmen won't be too hard either.

I hear the laws are alot tougher in Oz than they are in the U.S. At least, they take Scientology very seriously there versus in the U.S. where it's total apathy when it comes to trying to get authorities to take action against the cult.

^^ That's good to hear, but I still think that OSA will at least try to lean on witnesses.
Oh well....just seeing her in court with 30 other scientologists shows that Australia got Miscavige's attention. Also such a big bunch of people accompanying Jan shows nervousness.

    My bets are on -
    1) she is disappeared by the DM. Not sure what the cover story would be though.
    2) she has an "accident". May she RIP.

Jan's lawyer was revealed as 'Stuart Bouveng', do we know anything about this person? Particularly are they a known Scientologist or just a hired gun?

OSA might well try to lean on the wittnesses, but I'm sure that people have warned the wittneses that this could occur.

Really. Having video surveillance, phone recording, etc is The Right Thing To Do.

OSA tried to lean on the family of a woman in France who committed suicide (Gloria LOPEZ) and as a result the police was called and we're now waiting for the trial with bated breath.

So, yes, OSA is likely to try to do something stupid.

Not that I don't think they've already tried.

    Best Regards

    Jens

Hope he's got nothing in his life that scientology can blackmail him with. If he has they will find it and he will fuck up the trial.

Major kudos to the photographer who took this superbly executed photo.

Thanks for the information in both cases.
Seconded. Her case might be a good way to expose the "religious green cards" abuses.

I suggest to open a new thread dedicated to this specific topic.

Carry Lord Xenophon's number and be ready to call. He'd probably like to hear that the cult is harassing a victim of child sexual abuse perpetrated by one of their own.

The District Court has the full range of sentencing options. It will go to the NSW Supreme Court only if there's an appeal. It would only make the High Court if there were a further appeal (and possibly need to go to the NSW Full Supreme Court first).

I understand that the police were prepared to extradite her if she hadn't come to Australia to face the charges in the first place. Remember Dr Patel (aka Dr Death), a US citizen who was extradited from the US to face manslaughter charges. It's certainly achievable.

If they did, they were silly. It was there for the victim's protection - and, no, the victim is Carmen Rainer, not the legal system. Well, in this particular case there's a fair argument that Carmen is a victim, in addition to the legal system. And the police definitely had Carmen in mind when they sought that condition on bail.

You can actually sue in tort over an assault. :)

Since you've mentioned Gloria Lopez and France, do you know whether charges were ever brought in France or in Italy in the case of Martine Boublil? That poor woman was literallly kidnapped from a psychiatric facility and kept hostage for 2 months in Sardenia.

Last time I checked (with a French journalist), I was told that the lady was so unwell that she was unlikely to be able to assist the prosecution and the journalist thought it wouldn't go anywhere. I haven't given up hope.

It's her married name. Husband = Trevor Meyer. Also Australian.
  27. What's his immigration status?
  28. CarltonBANKS Member

How does she have a husband? Anyone got pix of Trevor?

Also, I'd like to just leave this here.

Wow. The question is though - do they really need her testimony? Wouldn't cirumstancial evidnece of her being detailed, kept hostage for 2 months be enough? After all, there are policemen that rescued her, there is the neighbor that called the police, there are witnesses to how she was brought from France to Italy. There are medical records of in what state she was found and there are photographs of the room where she was kept for 2 months. An unbelievable case.

If Jan has a greencard it isn't likely due to her religious activities. She would have held an R1 visa not a green card...however she could also hold an E visa given to those who invest at least 500k in creating a business in the U.S. (she did apparently) however ...her business could be a front for bringing in scientologists...as she is permitted to use the E2 visa to staff her business. (read up on those delicious visas). Foreigners with big bank accounts can get green cards pretty easily, they also may hold visas with no expiration such as "business visas"..I know a few wealthy foreigners from countries which the US rarely issues visitor visas without great price and condition... and they come and go to US as they please due to $$$$$.

I did a search here on that^ and I do not find dox relevant to that statement. Can anyone direct me to dox on OSA getting to Monalvo?
  36. jensting Member

That's the latest I've heard too.

    Best regards, Jens
  37. Was held in motel-room Moxon was there.
  38. Anonymous Member

There are no dox. There was an article about a week ago in TMZ, saying that Jason Beghe hit Daniel Montalvo and that Daniel filed a complaint with the police. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...n-attacking-man-incident-garden-strimmer.html
Many insiders said this story was just planted by OSA, but still....not very pleasant to read about it.

    Someone here use Urban Dictionary?

Suggestion for Jan Eastgate Definition "A term that roughly translates as "culpable victim of irony". It refers to a real-life cult member who headed a front group allegedly promoting human rights. Said cult member is currently charged with offences related to intimidating a minor so as to cover up a rape."

related words "Scientology, irony, hoist with own petard, poetic justice"

Example "Looks like you did a real Jan Eastgate when you stole that shopping bag without realising it was full of cat shit."
