Prior Examples of Extortion setups by the Cult

OK. This 'extortion' story has hit CNN.
Two held in Travolta extortion plot - CNN.com

The Travolta lawyers are spinning this pretty hard. I'm not saying they did extort money or they didn't. But the cult isn't the first party I am bound to believe.

So that brings me to this question.

Are there any prior examples of the cult making 'extortion' claims in order to shut someone up?

I can remember one such case -- where Scientology went after Michael J. Flynn, a Boston lawyer who had been their nemesis:

Jury To Resume Deliberations In Scientology Extortion Trial | Scientology Lies

It looks like they tried to set him up as the fall guy in a check cashing scam, saying he tried to pass a forged $1.5 million check drawn on one of LRH's bank accounts.

    It didn't stick.

When it didn't stick, Scientology tried to claim they'd been extorted and defrauded by being given false info; deflecting attention away from them and onto a couple of deadbeats they were using to set up Flynn.

    Look at the suspects.

    A senator
    An ambulance driver
And a friend of the Travolta family

    Something's fishy here.

In this case, I tend to agree.

The cult is an old hand at such chicanery...

Here is one of the zaniest set-ups the cult has tried yet.

They had a female operative get invited over to a BB owners apartment, smear blood everywhere and cry assault.

    Check out the two links...

Tom Klemesrud and the Miss Bloody Butt Incident (Scientology Cultist)

This link is a great read...

Tales from an ex member of Scientology's Office of Special Affairs, 'What really happened at INCOMM', Dan Garvin describes and INCOMM the super secret computer system Scientology uses to track and target those who oppose it - 11/17/2003

The moral of the story... Beware of strange!

Yes. Any time they try to settle a case and the plaintiff holds out for more money, they accuse them of "extortion."

    For example: Denver News - Hush-Hush Money - page 1 - Westword

    And another:

    http://www.moreaboutscientologycult.eu/usa/us-articles-california-lawyer.pdf

And another (cult site linked to using anonym.to)

    anonym.to - free dereferer service

It'd be easy to dig up more of this bullshit. It's a pretty routine thing for this cult to accuse people of extortion. If you sold them a car and wanted to be paid for it, they'd probably call you an extortionist.

Yeah, that explains it all, there is no one extorting money. If the police doesn't have an answer right away, it's them getting paid so someone can take the blame.
