Don't Cross the Line

■Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorised to use. This means don't upload videos that you didn't make or use content in your videos to which someone else owns the copyright, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programmes or videos made by other users, without necessary authorisation. ■We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we do not permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status and sexual orientation/gender identity).

Some Things Are Better Left Private...
Posting videos of yourself, your friends or your family can be fun and exciting. You never know who will find it—it might even get featured on the front page, or end up as one of the Most Viewed videos! If your video is personal, consider marking it private so that only your friends and those you share it with can view it.

Protect Your Secret Identity!
If you do post public videos, make sure there isn't anything in them that could help a stranger figure out who you are or where you live. Personal information like your telephone number or home address should NEVER be shared with other users. Watch out for things like number plates on cars or images of the outside of your house which might accidentally appear in the background of a video and help a stranger to track you down.

Remember, YouTube employees will never ask you for your password, email address or other account information. Don't be fooled if someone contacts you pretending to be from YouTube!

Keep Your Cool, Keep YouTube Safe
Whether it's a flame war, cyber bullying or people just being mean, comments can get nasty sometimes. When you post a video you can choose whether you want to let people comment on your videos at all. If someone leaves a comment on your video that is rude or bothers you, you can always delete the comment. Alternatively, you can select the "comments with approval" option when you upload a video. This means that you get to approve or remove people's comments before they appear on the site.

YouTube doesn't allow videos with nudity, graphic violence or hate. If you come across a video like this, click the link on the video to flag it as inappropriate and submit the form on the next page to report it to YouTube.

YouTube has literally MILLIONS of viewers every day and just like in the real world, most of the people are good, but some aren't. So please take care to protect yourself and your fellow users by keeping personal videos private, your identity a secret, your comments clean and by using the flagging system to report abuse.

This is obviously another blatant attempt by the Church Of Scientology to suppress free speech and to stop criticism of them and their staff.

We have seen them countless times filming people in the street (e.g. John Sweeny from the BBC’s Panorama, Mark Bunker, Tory Christman etc) and here they go complaining that someone else has done it! The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

I don’t see anything in the YouTube rules that says that I cannot post a video taken in a public place, featuring another person.

Therefore I will not remove this video.

I shall write to YouTube and tell them this.

There is not ONE piece of personal information given away in that video. Also note that the personal information is said to be at 0:01....which is just a frame of his butt (now hurt) and the fact that he is carrying a Sainsbury's shopping bag (not very full due to shitty wages) which is hardly unique in EG.

Therefore they must mean his image is what is being objected to, as no permission was asked.

Which means that half of YouTube (and nearly all Anon vids) should be taken down.

I'm sensing test-case...

Won’t help IMO. This situation is simply YT enforcing a privacy policy that can be used for removing videos. The video being audio only won’t make a blind bit of difference from what I can see.
