Yes, they are different setting and different circumstances and approaches. The both potentially involve the coning people out of their $, victims and people getting very rich.
Taking many thousands of dollars promising high quality inpatient addiction services and drug rehab and delivering substandard nonmedical care is fraud. It is even MORE imperative when dealing with high risk individuals that you deliver the care you promise. Or they WILL die. And this is EXACTLY why Narconon is wrong. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW a safe standard of care. They deliver a substandard product. They are not honest about the type of care they provide. They should be shut down for many different reasons. And it is very sad that it takes several deaths before our elected officials take notice, but finally they ARE taking notice. And I will keep talking about this AD NAUSEUM until every last Scientology rehab front group is SHUT DOWN.
^ OSA Narconon is a Killing Machine There are 13,000 rehabs in the USA which average 12 deaths per year from all causes, overdose, suicide etc.. Yet in a 9 month period Narconon killed 3 people!

It occurs to me that, instead of bawwing about how nobody but them is "doing something about it," they fail to overlook one thing. Project Chanology never killed anyone or had anyone die of neglect. By not opening a chain of Chanology rehabs, people with real problems won't waste their money on our useless nonsense, and will be able to send their little problem to a legitimate facility.
We know how to deal with the OSA trolls around these parts. Thread spamming generally doesn't help and is also a bannable offense.
Well it does get frustrating as OSA bots spam the site as non-members and lately it has been increasing in numbers. I am not aware of the sites capabilities of tracking incoming tcp/ip's, maybe that's just the way it is. However scientology hates to hear of the precious Narconon killing people so I have found it a useful and truthful tactic in dealing with the OSA bots.
We get OSAbots and the mods keep an eye on them. We have a running list of names we refer to and we chat about possible OSA activity on the forum. Sometimes we just get trolls. This guy is more than likely just someone who used to be part of Chanology and got butthurt and left. Or a random bored person. Don't think this one is an OSAbot.
