    Re: Text Videos Needed

Which model, subgenius? Google shows a PK101, PK201 and PK301 of the pocket projector.

Also, I dub this the Weapon of Mass Dissemination.

If this is as cool and as effective as it seems it could be, recommend others cells invest in one as well. Need to see this thing in action.

much better with the human eye
    only a demo or gtfo
this is across the back of my house
about 15' across and projected from about 20'
(don't know what that artifact is in the upper left)

if I find the right place I can easily project onto a freeway overpass, and have done so
its fun finding a good projecting surface...just needs to be dark, preferably white/light color but not necessarily

Text videos hurt my eyes. I only care for things I can listen to so I can do other things while my laptop burns a hole into my desk.

inb4 scilons come to your house with one of those and projects "subgenius rapes babies" all over your wall. ;)

Also, why make a new thread?. Just ask mods to rename the original thread if that's all you want. Use the [IMG] report button on your first post of the other thread.

I remembered that some Anons wanted to something like this but the idea was shot down because Enturb didn't want them to break any laws.

    Re: Project Projector

This was done by some in the RPR too. You might want to check your local laws for specific no-nos.

I think the legality issue was with high powered laser light pointers for a GRL-style projection.
  21. anonymous612 Member

    Re: Project Projector

Right, they wanted to use lasers. This shouldn't have the same issue.

    Re: Project Projector

Shorter range, though. Stil, there's a few places where something like this would be the only way to entubulate effectively .

    Re: Project Projector

Project onto a freeway over pass.
Create an instant billboard with any message you want.
    Profit.

    Gonna have fun tonight.

btw Banksy hit my town recently.

    Re: Project Projector

and many places where its not the only way but a very easy and effective way
just walked down the street and pasted up 10 foot illuminated signs as I walked:
    "Scientology Killed Lisa McPherson"
    its just begun

previous posts made me think to add the two:
project your sign then draw attention to it by laser pointing to it....

    Re: Project Projector

If there are going to be any laws regarding this then it will probably be in the area of traffic laws. i.e. creating a distraction to drivers, especially using something involving light, at night.
In some places it might not be a traffic offence but perhaps a local bye law somewhat related to the siting advertising boards too near major roads (partly for the same distraction reasons).

    So, be careful.

    Re: Project Projector

wandered around a little bit...projecting on the sidewalk, walls....moved to royoak....some kind of street concert on 5th...projected onto the wall of 5th ave....people were all wtf?.....awesome.....one technique is to project on the sidewalk or wall and look at it and look around like you don't know where its coming from (they can't see its coming from you because its so small)....looking at it makes people look at it....like pointing, people can't hardly resist....look up in the sky, is it a bird, a plane?...........he he...also shot inside of places when i was outside!!!!!.....

    Re: Project Projector

    traffic trumps the constitution actually
yes, i have a video of a fireplace and i thot: don't project that on a bldg asshole, it really looks like the place is on fire!!!!!
the act of projection isn't illegal
but if it causes a problem, that could be....(see above)

    Re: Project Projector

btw, i think that about all the legal video billboards up along highways now
very distracting.....how many will die (like texting and phoning while driving) before they do something?

    Re: Project Projector

bumping because this is awesome and needs moar attention

subgenius - what's the latest? what's the total cost of the setup?

Could we do something coordinated around the world with this? (If other cells get the same set-up?) Mysteriously light up some national monuments, famous landmarks, etc, globally, on the same day???

That would be the sheeeeeeet and get news attention.

Light up the IRS building with "IRS Investigate the Cult of Scientology" or some such shit? Only legal things of course, not suggesting any law breaking, srsly.

But this could be very very cool.

Quick thought: It would just be terrible to use this at the premiere of some movie.... A two-story high "Scientology's A Cult" right across the street from the red carpet as some big name actor arrives....again, check your local laws.

projecting the word FRAUD and XENU is fun. this was done to the ft harisson by frank oliver in 199 ah... 1996 during the first Lisa McPherson pickets using a long throw lens focused projection lamp

    Re: Project Projector

i sure hope they checked their local laws
    because that's a tazin' bro
reward to the first person who finds a law against it

(btw thanks for that bit of info)
that's the diff between now and 199---
now you can do it with something the size of a cell phone
  37. subgenius Member

    Re: Project Projector

cost is what you can get it for
anything that outputs video will connect=most cell phones, etc.
And, no, nothing can be done.
The only limit is one's imagination.

    Re: Project Projector

    This thread is lacking pix.
You need to set your digital camera on a tripod, or something where it can't move, try increasing shutter time until you get a decent exposure. It may even have a "night shot" preset. Of course this is only good if the projected image is static, i.e. not video and is also mounted somewhere rock solid.
