It is difficult emotionally to vote against "save the children" legislation. For this reason, we ought to be very skeptical toward every bit of it.
You would be shocked to see what monies makes people do. I know that in FB's case it makes them ignore all our please to remove child predators, bullies and CP material from their site.
Really? I'm a little surprised by that. Isn't it against the law to post child porn on line? Sometimes "save the children" is used to grant police greater powers. Maybe that's okay in this instance. I don't know. But I hope someone reads the fine print with this proposed law. I would hate to create situations where police might be able to cherry pick evidence, or even plant evidence, against innocent people.
Ive seen it with my own eyes Mr. the internet. i mean fairly recently we discovered a ring of arab profiles that have pictures sets of 2 children being hungby their neck and killed and consequent decomp of their bodies, judging from the pictures, for at least a years time. It is a very slippery slope we are on. but we do have rules to prevent us from ruining innocent peoples lives.
If you report the pictures of the children being hung to Facebook and/or the FBI, won't they be taken down?
Well, from what we could deduce this one picture was up for ever a year. Also I don't know if the FBIhas any jurisdiction, or if stature of limitations applies and all that jazz. I don't even care about the pics anymore, I want to find who ever was responsible for doing that to those poor kids. Even if from what I have been able to discern it happened close to 10 years ago. If you would like to talk some more about it PM me.
It's against the law to post child porn. It is posted on facebook, MySpace and Youtube. More difficult -pedophiles meet each other online on these sites to share their pix. As usual.
