Re: PROTIPS on getting info from your local org This was good, I would add a few things. The main thing is 'speaking the language'. You do NOT want to speak the language. What I always found best was to simply use the word 'org'. Only that and no other scieno words, because once you use that word they don't know how much of a member you might be. You could be brand new, maybe only attended a few events. Or maybe you have been in 20 years and are OT8. They don't know, all they know is that you are a member of some sort. You don't blurt the word 'org', but rather use timing, introduce the word to throw them off balance, and that is timing. I spoke the language fluently at one time, but on the phone I usually only ever used the word 'org'. Anything else could invite discussion. Pooks is totally correct, open the phone call with, "hello my name is..." If you don't give a name they will ask you for a name, and then you lose the power position. If the call is going badly, hang up while you are talking, and this takes practice. To not speak louder or lower or faster just before you hang up. Phones disconnect all the time, it just has to seem a legitimate disconnection. Since you used the word 'org' and are maybe a member you are allowed to be fast fast fast, you are allowed to talk fast fast fast. But you are also allowed to slow down and speak slowly if you would like. This was great advice in this thread, excellent advice. You might call it 'spot on'. But don't say that on the phone
Re: PROTIPS on getting info from your local org Good advice. Writing down your "script" before you call is essential. If you need to call the same org more than once, think about having a caller of another gender call to avoid suspecion, and aways say THANK YOU. It's heartbreaking how friendly and cheerful some of these "kids" sound on the phone. I really want them to get out and have a life.
Re: PROTIPS on getting info from your local org i like those tips. may try that one day. i just hope the scifags dont catch on too quick
Re: PROTIPS on getting info from your local org Toronto's Org is open until 10 or 11pm on weekdays and until 7pm and 6pm on saturdays and sundays. Opening? I'll have to give 'em a call around 8 or 9am and see if anyone answers. General inquiries shouldn't get anybody hung up on. Would be fun for a morning flash raid on any Org
It's a harmless prank so Anon can mess with the higher ups and shake the faithful from their mental shackles. Who gives a crap if a couple of people say "unethical"? What a puss. Keep it up and keep giving the Co$ Hell! -LB
