Don't you think he'd want the address to be passed around so they can get more proxy addresses?? The site's already been posted in the guardian blog, which I'm sure has a much larger audience, so I'm posting it:

Freegate stopped working for some reason in Iran. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me how to use these proxies. I tried to set some of the proxies mentioned here and none of them worked.

For internet explorer:
Tools-> internet options -> connections

Look for your connection (i.e. dialup or LAN) and click on settings.
Select the box that says "Use a proxy server..."
Enter the IP address and port. When u see a proxy address, the port # is the number after the colon ":"
Then click OK.

For firefox:
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network
Click on settings; select "manual proxy configuration".
enter the IP adress and port # in the HTTP Proxy box, then select "Use this proxy server for all protocols." Then click OK.

I have a web based PHP proxy where Youtube and the like is watchable; it's not slow like Tor or something and it's based in the United States.

Supports SSL too though I heard SSL is blocked? Couldn't have blocked all SSL could they, just port 443? That true? If so I can just route it to a different port.

ssh -C -D 1234 -l user server.com
this makes compressed encrypted SOCKS5 tunnel from your machine to 2nd end of a tunnel

These tunnels are as fast as normal network connection, sometimes even better, because traffic is compressed using gzip algorithm
