    I'm sure everyone knows that K.A. has a new TV show (is it on the air yet?).

    The show is about her losing weight.

    "This is gold, Jerry! Gold!"

    Her official website www.kirstiealley.com just shows the standard Apache placeholder. I was hoping to see new pics. I guess she must still be Saint Hill Org-sized.

    Oh please, i got nothing to do at work but read tabloids on break and that woman just goes up and down. I hope she gets fatter (as she seems to cycle back to it) so we can add another bs on they're list. but this is disturbing. fat people are just as easy to pray on as the poor and addicted. after all the media bullshit about 6 packs and twig girls that we've all been exposed to, these people (not all) lack strong self-esteem and if they join this new org would be easy pickings.

    Loss Weight at the Price of your Mind

    no sirry i don't like that fat bitch one bit
    not even on cheers..woody owned that, same with coach.

    Perez Hilton had one about a week ago - she's not looking too bad. And since she will be on Oprah (was that supposed to air today?) we'll find out. Of course, weight loss products seem to be sucker magnets over and over and over and over again, so I guess this means they'll be in the $$$$$

    sad thing is, this might actually work. I mean they're used to make people work they're asses off with little food while feeding them tons of vitamins. which makes this a little more disconcerting if it's connected with them cause they could provide at least temporary results and have people completely mind-fucked by the end and in they're grasp.

    I love the testimonial videos... I recognized the patio area of the Sandcastle and Ft. Harrison as well as the blonde standing outside the 3rd floor Reading Room of the Ft. Harrison.

    Quack To the Stars: Dr. Soram Khalsa

    Dr. Soram Singh Khalsa, MD, is an associate physician in the Division of Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. But that is the boring bit. The fun bit is that after some residencies and internships at lame “Western medicine” hospitals, Dr. Soram Khalsa traveled East and became an expert in “complimentary,” holistic, and “naturopathic” medicines, whereupon he started a fancy Hollywood clinic and took on many celebrity clients with his ingenious blend of actual medicine and bullshit far-East mystical hoodoo. But the good news is, you don’t even have to be a celebrity anymore to throw your money at him!

    2. The Product RELEASE ME and its similarity to L. Ron Hubbard's Cal-Mag formula used in the Purification Rundown and Narconon (front group for Scientology).

    Summary:
    Cal/Mag its a drink made with powdered calcium, magnesium and vinegar in hot water. It was a formula claimed by L Ron Hubbard but originates from Athe discredited Adelle Davis (http://www.quackwatch.org/04ConsumerEducation/davis.html).

    "L Ron Hubbard's" recipe for the Cal-Mag drink
    1 Tbsp Calcium Gluconate Power
    1/2 Tsp Magnesium Carbonate Powder
    1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar at least 5% acid
    1 Tbsp Honey
    1000 international units of Vitamin D
    NOTE: Take notice of the 2 to 1 ration of Magnesium to Calcium in this recipe.

    Kirstie Alleys Organic Liaisons "Release Me" product contains:
    Calcium
    Magnesium
    Vitamin C & Citric Acid (both a substitute for the acid in Apple Cider vinegar)
    Other nutrients(doesn't have a lot of detail on the web site)

    Its really just missing a sweetener like honey but since this is a pill and not a drink a sweetener may not be needed or other nutrients may cover that.

    2. A. Release Me from Organic Liaison and Kirstie Alley
    From this page: Kirstie Alley’s Organic Liaison: Release Me, Weight Loss Products & Natural Dietary Supplements

    "Release Me™ Take a break from the daily stress of life with Organic Liaison’s Release Me™, the perfect way to help your body rest naturally as you lose weight. This instant mineral beverage and natural diet supplement comes as a powder, providing a two-to-one balance of calcium and magnesium. Containing vitamin C, citric acid and other nutrients, Release Me is quickly absorbed into your body to remineralize bone and helps your body relax and unwind naturally after a hectic day. Calcium and other minerals help counteract acidity from food, drink and toxins, as well as keep your bones healthy, control heart rate, blood clotting, muscle contraction and more, whereas magnesium contributes to synthesis of energy and cardiovascular functions. These minerals are alkalines, which relax the body from tightness and tension. Together, calcium and magnesium help your muscles contract and relax, while alkaline substances can help loosen fat from cells. Order your one-month supply of Release Me and treat your body to the relaxation you deserve while you lose weight.†"

    2. B. Cal-Mag and Scientology (Purification Rundown and Narconon)
    Cal-Mag is used as part of the Scientology practice of the Purification Rundown and as part the New Life Detoxification Program at the center of the front group Narconon. Background link on the similarity between these two Scientology programs, one sold to their followers and one sold to drug addicts:
    Narconon Exposed: Narconon & Scientology: Doctrines
    Scientology's Purification Rundown (Purif)

    From here: Narconon Exposed: What is the Narconon programme? - The New Life Detoxification Program Picture Book
    Over the next couple of pages, Hubbard recommends a gruesome concoction dubbed "Cal-Mag", a mixture of vegetable oil, vinegar, calcium, and magnesium which he claims to have developed in 1973. Its aim is supposedly to "handle and prevent deficiencies", "help rebuild cellular structure", "keep the nerved smoothed out" and "help prevent sore muscles". In fact, Cal-Mag was the invention in 1954 of Adelle Davis, in a book entitled Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit which has deservedly acquired a degree of notoriety for its numerous scientific errors (on average, about one per page). Davis was a hugely successful "food faddist" who claimed to be able to stave off cancer by drinking large quantities of calcium-rich milk; fate showed its sense of morbid humour when she died of cancer in 1974. (See the excellent Quackwatch website for a summary of Davis' dubious legacy - <http://www.quackwatch.org/04ConsumerEducation/davis.html>).

    The use of Cal-Mag in Narconon is discussed in this 1990 article for the Newark Herald Journal.
    Narconon Patient Says Center Treating Mostly Non-Indians - 5 July 90
    They gave him "Cal-Mag," a concoction of oil, vinegar, calcium, and magnesium. "Only we called it 'Cal-Gag.'" He started on two glasses of the stuff a day, then he said they wanted him to increase it to four glasses a day. "All it did was give me the runs," he said.

    Cal-Mag is described in an HCOB document called "The Purification Rundown Replaces The Sweat Program," which bears a typed signature reading "The Boards of Directors of the Churches of Scientology", but says nothing about Narconon.

    And again here: Scientology 'purification' rite used by anti-addiction centres - 14 June 1986
    And here: Addict Describes Treatment, Flight From Narconon - 29 July 1990
    A thread on Ex Scientology Kids where former members discuss Cal-Mag contains some funny stuff. Ex Scientology Kids :: View topic - Cal Mag

    WARNING Cult site: Heroin Withdrawal - Heroin Detox - withdrawal of Heroin

    Cal-Mag and Narconon and Heroin Detox!

    "Specific combinations of vitamins and a special "Cal-Mag" formulae was developed to assist with heroin detox and withdrawal. Addicts using the Cal-Mag formulae during heroin withdrawal, combined with other specific vitamins, experience much less pain and notice improved health. This encourages former heroin users to fully detoxify themselves. Dry-out or heroin withdrawal is only the 1st step of heroin detox, but fear of heroin withdrawal had to be overcome before full heroin detox was accessible to addicts. Cal Mag and holistic approaches to withdraw provided a way out of the trap of heroin addiction (see Mind-Body Detox - Nerve Assist)."

    Kirstie Alley and Narconon:
    Kirstie Alley serves as the national spokesperson for Narconon (a Scientology-affiliated drug treatment program. She has continued her Scientology training and, as of 2007, had attained the level of OT VII (Operating Thetan level 7).

    Nightingale™
    Sleep is the secret ingredient to a healthy weight loss regimen. It may sound like nonsense, but there is significant scientific evidence to suggest that sleep contributes greatly to weight loss by regulating hormones instrumental in helping you lose pounds.

    To help you get more Zzzs, we have created an all-natural sleep aide called Nightingale.
    It contains L-Tryptophan, an essential amino acid, found in turkey. Remember all those naps after a big Thanksgiving meal? That was L-Tryptophan at work.
    [IMG]

    L-tryptophan is often sold as an herbal supplement. There are no regulated manufacturing standards in place for many herbal compounds and some marketed supplements have been found to be contaminated with toxic metals or other drugs

    as your healthcare provider has prescribed. Do not use this product in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.

    It is dangerous to try and purchase l-tryptophan on the Internet or from vendors outside of the United States. The sale and distribution of l-tryptophan outside of the U.S. does not comply with the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the safe use of this medication.

    a life-threatening condition called eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS) occurred in many people using L-tryptophan and some died from the condition. All of these people had taken L-tryptophan distributed by a company in Japan. This L-tryptophan was found to contain trace levels of impure ingredients. Since that time, the FDA has limited the availability of L-tryptophan

    Before using l-tryptophan, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, herbalist, or other healthcare provider. You may not be able to use l-tryptophan if you have certain medical conditions

    L-tryptophan may pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Ask your healthcare provider before using l-tryptophan if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give any herbal/health supplement to a child without the advice of a doctor.

    What happens if I overdose?
    Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this product.

    L-tryptophan can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Avoid using other dietary or herbal supplements to treat the same condition for which you are using L-tryptophan.

    L-tryptophan side effects
    Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

    In 1989, a life-threatening condition called eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS) occurred in many people using L-tryptophan and some died from the condition. All of these people had taken L-tryptophan distributed by a company in Japan. This L-tryptophan was found to contain trace levels of impure ingredients. Since that time, the FDA has limited the availability of L-tryptophan in the U.S. However, the increased use of the Internet has made many dietary supplements available from non-U.S. sources.
    There have been no published cases of EMS within the last several years, but you should be aware of the symptoms. Call your doctor at once if you have any of the following:

    *

    severe muscle pain (most often in the shoulders, back, or legs);
    *

    weakness, numbness, tingling, or burning pain (especially at night);
    *

    tremors or twitching muscle movements;
    *

    swelling in any part of your body;
    *

    skin changes (dryness, yellowing, hardening);
    *

    breathing difficulty; or
    *

    uneven heartbeat.

    Less serious side effects may include:

    *

    dry mouth, heartburn, burping, gas;
    *

    nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;
    *

    feeling drowsy or light-headed;
    *

    blurred vision;
    *

    weakness, lack of coordination;
    *

    headache; or
    *

    lost appetite.

    This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical

    Read the small print.. which most times, saves quacks from being sued... that "the product has not been tested or approved by the FDA."

    Not so sloppy joe! If a quack is a board certified doctor and they prescribe, recommend, use osmosis on their patients something non-FDA approved, then their ass is grass and the law is gonna smoke it.

    If they are "certified" they MUST do things by the book and tell the patient it is not approved by the FDA. Even that does not exclude the "Doctor" from malpractice. Logic being that the Doctor should have followed traditional channels and not tried experimental/risky medical treatments.

    So if Behemoth Alley keels over from this "treatment", her family could sue the everliving shit out of this quack. In addition, the law would throw him in the pokey for practicing questionable medicine.

    What's the harm in colon cleansing?
  27. Boss Hog Member

    re: Research: Kirstie Alley's weight loss program Organic Liaison

    One concern with colon cleansing is that it can increase your risk of dehydration, especially when the cleansing is machine-driven (hydotherapy).

    A potentially more serious concern is that certain laxatives & herbal therapies, such as those with sodium phosphate, can cause a rise in your electrolytes, which can be dangerous if you have kidney disease or heart disease.
