RIP Roland Rashleigh-Berry

Roland Rashleigh-Berry, long-time critic of Scientology and @RolandRB on this site, passed away this week. Author of the Xenu leaflet, one of the first and most successful early Internet-sourced anti-Scientology documents, translated into a couple dozen languages.

This was back when these SOBs would actually physically attack you when you protested and he took a solid punch to the face during one of these protests, which he actually finished.

That aside, he was a genuinely witty person, with a sharp, sardonic bite to his humor, and trolled friends and foes alike.

There will never be another like him.

I just read this on Hartley Patterson's Facebook, and I hope he has more to say in the future. I'm not sure if this will work but he is @hartley patterson here.

Once I found his CV somewhere and I sent him an IRL but totally anonymous birthday postcard.
If I remember correctly, he died way too early.

Never met him in real life, but I wish I got the chance to. Condolences to his family, relatives, loved ones, epic trolls and friends.

He was the greatest motherfucker to ever kick scientology's ass in my books, and I will never forget the time he likely did troll me to great lengths... and I enjoyed every bit of it.

I resolve to carry on some of Roland's work against CoS - including the trolling.

I'm sure he would have wanted that, and I can't think of a better way to honor him. I can only aspire to become half the $ci critic, and half the troll.

(I think I first saw it posted here, years ago, but the image link is broken now, and it was posted anonymously. Maybe someone with a long memory can confirm the origin of the Roland troll-smile shoop, because I'd love to give the original shooper my internets and praises.)
