My buddy told me there was a big new FOR SALE sign on the org at 4th and Ash. He also told me about the condos going in on the old failed Ideal Org property, so I was googling that and found a new address for the "church" of Scientology, San Diego.

3502 Kurtz St. is in an industrial/commercial area by the Sports Arena. The building in question occupies the end of a block. There is no open space, parks or lawns in that block, but this is their promo pic for the new building:

Okay, so where is that lawn and fountain? Not Kurtz Street! Google it, there's nothing remotely similar in that area.

Okay, but it gets better and even weirder. Googling the address returned this:
    http://www.healthgrades.com/group-d...diego/state-of-california-corrections-ooo9rm8

State Correctional Dept. Psychiatrist offices? REALLY?
I wonder if the cult is sharing with the psychs...
This is a really weird situation and it needs more looking into. I'll do that after I fix my bike's petcock, which isn't working properly. clamshot.jpg clams_idleorg.jpg

That could not happen before the RFRA and later RLUIPA, a rewrite of the Bill Clinton endorsed and unconstitutional Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
It's the land use part of that statute which undermines local zoning. Before that, religious organizations had to obtain a variance to locate in industrial/commercial parks.

One lonely tree, the palm is on the next lot. It's surrounded by parking lots. Neighbors are a towing company. Nuff said.

  6. If you watch the video that shows the church (cough) the address on the building is 1865 and the video is called inside A church.

The 3502 Kurtz St. appears to be a commercial building and they are one of the tenants. it does look like they have moved.

Good job San Diego!!! Broke the Org!! What's up with the Ideal Org? That's the one that was going to go in the old community college building, right? So nothing ever came of that? Figures as much.

They're forced to downsize aka the opposite of being upstat, so I can only imagine the yelling and screaming COB is directing their way. Gives me a giddy feeling.

    HI All,
"Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in...."

Any who... So i noticed that my little minions from the Org who follow me around the neighborhood have been missing lately. So after a month or so, i got curious and walked down to 4th Ave to take a look at what, if anything, was going on. So on Sunday, Nov. 1, about 9:15 am, I saw this:
    SD Org 4th 1.jpg
the Building has been completely gutted, one can see "Pieces of Blue Sky" through the upper windows: the roof is gone! SD Org 4th 2.jpg

So I went down to the new location listed on the internet. The new place is a huge step down from the downtown location, a huge fail for the SD Org. It is in an industrial area, behind the Sports Arena. They have a temporary canvas sign hanging on the wall, and on a Sunday evening I counted 6 cars in the lot and 2 out front. Oddly, there was a young person dressed in a Hotel Bellman uniform frantically talking on a cell phone while pacing near the entrance. Well, that may be odd, but not unusual at all....
SD Org Kurtz 1.jpg Rather than the banks and trade schools in the cult's former neighborhood, the Org now enjoys an industrial waste disposal firm (Clean Harbors) and a sex toy store/porno theater/Sea Org Recruitment Center (Adult Depot). Enterprising Anons could purchase sex toys, then properly dispose of any resultant hazardous waste, all while enturbulating the Org. Discuss.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer cult. Just think of how easy it will be for them to buy dildos for bitter
apostates now! And when people blow from that org, both of them from the sound of it, they can dispose of the LRH crap as they walk out the door!

Jon Atack has been proven correct again.
I have seen the porn/sex toy store neighbor scenario many times while I was involved. It has happened far beyond coincidence. They don't "pull it in", they gravitate towards that element.

I used to meet a friend in Detroit for lunch and I must have driven by that house many times over three decades. Well, it hasn't gotten any better. I think someone could have rehabbed it into the 1980's, but it's bulldozer material now. When I would return home, I always noticed how different life was on the other side of the Windsor Tunnel.

According to San Diego City website, COS still owns the 4th Ave property :
    1996 deed record.png

The Kurtz Street property appears to be temporary, no recent changes to ownership listed:

    Temp Prop Records.png

and now the big reveal. Gentlemen, I give you Project 371313

    Project 371313.png

"work includes complete remodel and addition to existing Church"

I don't know what, if any significance the "expiration: Expired" has.

There is an extensive list of permits granted to Sci on the SD website. 533-443-10-00 is the land parcel number, and the project, as stated is 371313.

Well, it looks like we have another Ideal Org to troll. Enjoy!

(sorry about the large pics, I wanted folks to be able to read the print) (also, Im not good at internet)

The "expired" means they have to get a new permit if they want to so much as hammer a nail. From the San Diego Development Services page covering permit extensions and expiration:

I walked by the cult the other day and talked briefly to a worker. He told me that the building was "going to be a Scientology church."
The cult has added a partial rooftop enclosure and, after years of looking at an empty parking garage, has converted the parking area into office space.
    I took this snap:
    San_Diego_Cult _HQ_20160512.JPG

I did not feel like walking back up the hill so I casually walked to the bus stop and waited for a ride. I got on the bus, just as the door closed, a young woman came running up to the bus with a look of frustration on her face. As the bus pulled away, she took a photo of the front of the bus. Her expression changed to the "I've got a secret" look. We drove away, leaving her to continue with whatever the hell she was going to do with a picture of a bus.

So, either she's into bus porn, or the cult has an operative monitoring the construction workers. Or maybe nothing. Personally, I prefer that bus porn theory. "Nothing" would be OK too. But.... yeah... Ill go back soon and overtly take more pics to entice clusterfuckery.

Does anyone know the names of the two standing in the back, behind the older couple in the picture above? They look familiar, but the res is too low for me to make them out.

San Diego’s new Scientology ‘Ideal Org’ looks like it’s ready for its close-up

By Tony Ortega, November 17, 2016

    Quote:

This summer, we covered the opening of Scientology’s newest Ideal Org in this country, its two new buildings in Harlem. We wrote at some length about the methods that Scientology used to try to keep us from reporting that event, and what fun we had. So which will be the next Scientology “Ideal Org” opened in the U.S.? After a photo we received from a couple of tipsters this week, we think the next David Miscavige grand opening event might happen in San Diego.

The path to an Ideal Org in San Diego has been a difficult one. Way back in 2006, wealthy San Diego Scientologists Kurt and Jenny Listug paid $13.08 million for the Chicago Title Insurance Co. building downtown, which had a pretty funky look to it. Our sources told us that the Listugs offered it to the church to use as an Ideal Org and replace the longtime home of Scientology in San Diego, a building on 4th Avenue just south of Ash Street. The national office turned their noses up at the Listugs’ offer, and so the couple sold it for $13.6 million.

The national office instead coveted the campus of Coleman Preparatory School, an 8.6-acre property in La Mesa, about 11 miles from downtown San Diego. By 2013, they’d changed their minds again and sold the Coleman campus site, and then we learned that they intended to end up where they started, renovating the old facility on 4th Avenue.

As renovations have been going on, the church has been housed in a temporary location in an industrial park north of downtown. And now, things are looking nearly complete at the 4th Ave location.

Maybe the SD org learned their lesson? Buying a property that was on the outside edge of what they could afford didn't end well. Looks like, instead of buying some showpiece building downtown, they opted for renovating the existing building on 4th Ave. As far as location goes, it's fairly "ideal;" on the edge of the Gaslamp Quarter.

That Coleman College property was way east out by 70th. Street. Not exactly handy for walk-ins. Not that anyone walks in anyways.
We should probably do something for the Grand Opening.

The 2010 Idle Morg Crusade video features scilon actors, like Jim Meskimen and Nancy Cartwright, if you notice.
This production is a hackneyed, scripted monologue that would sound more ridiculous if one person were speaking, but the cuts to different actors reading sentences and phrases takes the edge off a little. After listening to that video I ask myself, "Are they all that stupid?"
