This is from back in October of 2013:

That post was from this thread:

Then someone started this thread, about the same thing:

This thread about it came next:

Then this thread about it appeared:

Today, the news story below was published, and I couldn't think of a better way to honor it than by starting another fucking thread about the same fucking thing.

Church moving in after lawsuit settled | Reporter Newspapers

Three years after settling a parking dispute that exploded into a freedom-of-religion lawsuit, the Church of Scientology of Georgia is finally preparing its new church in Sandy Springs.

Heavy interior and exterior work has been underway since the summer on the mansion-like former real estate office at 5395 Roswell Road at the intersection with Glenridge Drive. The Georgia Church of Scientology, currently based in Doraville, did not respond to questions about an opening date, but a person answering its phone said the church still plans to move in.

The church bought the property around 2005, but first sought rezoning for use as a place of worship in 2009. The church, then based in Dunwoody, proposed a $3 million renovation and said it had about 100 active members.

Many area neighborhood associations opposed the move, citing traffic and parking concerns, especially since the church sought to reduce the number of parking spaces to expand the building.

The Sandy Springs City Council heard the matter at least four times over several months before deciding to approve the rezoning — but without the parking reduction. The church then sued the city, claiming the decision violated the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of religion.

The case spent years inching through the legal system while any rehab remained on hold. Finally, a court ordered a settlement via mediation in 2012. In that successful settlement, the church was allowed to expand the building and to meet the parking requirement by sharing spaces at the adjacent post office.

It appears that major rehab work began this summer, and there’s a sign that the church and the city are getting along better. In February, the church granted a long piece of the property’s frontage to the city for $1 for road improvements.

    waste of time
    Waste of sheeple's money
but they must show "expansion" to the sheeple and the city
    BWA HA HA

The only reason $cientology fought to reduce the number of parking spots is so it will not be so obvious how few people actually go their. 10 vehicles in a 100 slot parking lot looks empty. 10 vehicles in a 20 slot parking lot looks full.

The only reason that they were hit with those parking spot numbers in the first place was their claimed attendance numbers. If they'd been honest and said "This Miscavige Monument is going to have buggerall attendance", no problem.

Scientology leader David Miscavige in Atlanta on Saturday: Can you feel the excitement?

By Tony Ortega, The Underground Bunker, March 30, 2016

On Sunday, Rod Keller gave us the scoop: This coming Saturday at 2 pm, Scientology will open its newest “Ideal Org,” in the Atlanta area.

It’s always interesting to know where the elusive David Miscavige is going to pop up. And he usually shows up at these grand openings, giving a short speech before pulling down a giant ribbon on the new Scientology cathedral.

Will Atlanta hold true to form? We’re guessing that Miscavige will be there, and of course there’s always a (slight) possibility that one of the organization’s glittering celebrities will be there as well.

This is the first Ideal Org to open in the US since Portland in May 2013, if we remember rightly. (Unless you count the grand opening of the Flag Building — a/k/a the Super Power Building — in Clearwater in November 2013.)

    <snipped>

The new org is at 5395 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, and has been in the works for a long, long time. Rod reminded us that there were zoning fights and a lawsuit dating way back to 2009 at least about Scientology’s plans for the place.

With Miscavige likely to show up, the church will rely on its usual tricks to keep bystanders far away. But if you are going and want to send us reports, please get in touch with us. And be very cautious — Rod pointed out that when Anonymous protested in the Atlanta area in 2008, local police were not friendly.

Pity that Scientology couldn't help the people speaking in that "come to the Atlanta Ideal Org opening" vid
They faltered when they read their script, the guy was wearing glasses and she has a very noticeable lisp.
hhhmmmm, You mean Scientology couldn't fix those things?
    Interesting.
    Your doubts are valid.;)

UPDATE: We’ve been away from the computer for a while today. Now that we’re back, we have a bunch of photos in our inbox. We’re just going to post them in no particular order.

    <snipped>

Says one of our correspondents: “At 2:12 the crowd is about the same size. Couple of protestors outside. Mostly cops and security keeping things quiet. No one on stage yet. No Miscavige sighting.”

    <snipped>

Another correspondent says: “They started with ‘Georgia on my Mind’ 20 minutes ago. There are no more than 250 to 300 people here tops, and most are Sea Org. ABC news is here. The locals are Christian and none too happy about this. They were quite kind to me and some other Anons and media and allowed us sweet video and picture views from their balconies across the street. The Post Office was apparently annoyed at Scientologists for using their lot so they told them it was for Postal Customers only. They are right next door.”

David Miscavige and a bussed-in crowd cut the ribbon on Atlanta’s new Scientology ‘Ideal Org’

By Rod Keller, The Underground Bunker, April 3, 2016

Scientology posted its official photos from yesterday’s opening of an Ideal Org in the Atlanta area. The Bunker’s own correspondents on the scene reported that there were fewer than 400 folding chairs and the overall crowd may have numbered around 500 which, Mike Rinder had found, was mostly bussed in from places like the Flag Land Base in Clearwater, Florida. But on its website, Scientology is claiming that 1,500 were in attendance.

The cult has issued this press release:

Georgia’s Scientology Church Opens on Bright Shiny Day for Spirit of Freedom

    Excerpt:

"This is Scientology for a new American South," said David Miscavige, the ecclesiastical leader of Scientology and the Chairman of the Board of the Religious Technology Center. "And so whereafter that ribbon falls for Atlanta and she in turn rises up, should anyone ask to what is Atlanta rising, you can truthfully say: she's rising to eternity!"

"Today honors a tale of Ideal Org creation that epitomizes Ideal Org spirit," Mr. Miscavige said just before cutting a giant ribbon that officially opened the Atlanta Ideal Church of Scientology Organization.

"It's all the more inspiring," he said, "for the fact yours is a city of enduring inspiration, a city of grace and magic, a city where even oaks and magnolias possess souls; and a city of remembrance that also foretells of the future."

VIDEO: David Miscavige’s entire speech at Scientology’s Atlanta ‘Ideal Org’ opening

By Tony Ortega, The Underground Bunker, April 4, 2016

Thanks to smart planning by a couple of our readers, we have a complete video of Scientology leader David Miscavige’s speech Saturday as he opened the organization’s new “Ideal Org” in an Atlanta suburb.

The Atlanta facility is the first Ideal Org Scientology has opened in the US in nearly three years, but photos from the event show a crowd of only about 500 people gathered at the building in Sandy Springs, Georgia. As usual, Miscavige presided over the ceremony while an image of him was projected on a large screen nearby.

Scientology goes to great lengths to keep non-Scientologists far away from these events by blocking streets, sidewalks, and with the use of security personnel, so that we get only partial views of what’s going on.
In this case, our correspondents, JustSheila and another Bunker reader, had planned ahead and secured permission from a private property owner to make use of a vantage point across the street from the building. They shared the space with a crew from ABC also taping for the upcoming April 29 20/20 special about Ron Miscavige’s book about his son, Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige, and Me.

But you won’t have to wait until April 29 to see our footage.

The picture is particularly good for the distance it was filmed from. (And if you know how hard our correspondents have tried in the past just to get a glimpse of Miscavige, this is really remarkable and exactly the kind of thing Miscavige has tried to prevent.) But the downside of that great distance is the amount of car noise we hear — there is a major avenue between the camera and the Scientology building. We did our best to provide captions for what Miscavige is saying, but some of it was really difficult to make out.

We’re looking forward to your thoughts on Miscavige’s performance. It seemed to us that he (or his speechwriter, Dan Sherman) was straining to make references to local cultural touchstones. Did he really have to incorporate Rhett Butler’s “don’t give a damn” and even reference the movie’s title as well? Lawd have mercy.

Thanks to all for keeping the pressure on.
I see COB is still wearing his wedding ring. I look for it every time. Just makes me so mad.
To me he looks like he is really straining to smile and keep it together. But maybe that is just wishful thinking.
I do think he is getting a lot of work done to his face and he is really starting to look clownish and have that morphy look. Skin looks too tight, cheeks to prominent and all that.
Looking more on the feminine side to me.
COB just disgusts me on every level. A real con man's con.

Maybe COB felt he had to call out whales in the front row since no sci-stars showed up?
Gee, Travolta and Cruise have their own planes, you would think they would make it.
No Cuntwright or Krusty Alien either? WOW

I see Erin Banks the COS spokes hole introduced him. She came a long way from "buidling orphanages in India" * COUGH*
Who can forget her and Nick's pitiful videos of India?
Wonder what happened to all that "Slums to School" money and supplies that people donated?
Where is the orphanage they were building? hmmmm?
That got swept under the rug pretty darn fast. Someone needs to re-expose and take a trip to India and start asking some questions. Wonder if Louis Theroux is up for it? Tony?
    WHERE DID IT ALL GO?
    Inquiring minds want to know.

COB is looking more and more like Howdy Doody to me with his puffy cheeks, fake smile and fake hair.
So many similarities with this video. LOL
The Peanut Gallery and how silly the whole fucking thing is.
I guess you can substitute Howdy Doody with Hip Hip Hurray!

It's the sheeple that are the puppets.
I just think the likeness of COB and Howdy Doody is uncanny.:p

Here are all the Slums To Schools videos for their trip to India. Seven years ago.
Erin Banks and husband Nick (are they still together?) filmed thieir "journey" to India as VM's.
In the vids it says "they are there to BUILD an orphanage". WHERE IS IT?
Can someone please grab these vids before they disappear? I mean really.
I think it is very interesting for the spokeshole of the COS to say she was there raising funds and building an orphanage.

Again, where is this orphanage they built?

Many mentions of Mohammad and footage of him in their videos, who has been seen at many IAS galas wearing his giant COS medals.

More Atlanta video: David Miscavige cuts the ribbon on Scientology’s new real estate venture!

By Tony Ortega, The Underground Bunker, April 16, 2016

Previously, we posted video of Scientology leader David Miscavige giving his oration on April 2 to open the new “Ideal Org” in Atlanta, which was shot by a couple of very resourceful Underground Bunker readers who had secured a strategic position across the street from the festivities.

But our informants didn’t want our readers to miss the ribbon-cutting ceremony! And we want to thank them for the painstaking work of captioning the words of Scientology mouthpiece Erin Banks in this clip.
