I can't believe that since we brought up "Still Alive" by Jonathan Coulton so often, we've missed his other relevant song: "Tom Cruise Crazy."
  5. Re: Scientology Protest Music Mix CD

Are there any good quality recordings of it though?
  6. Re: Scientology Protest Music Mix CD

    I think you'll find that's A Silver Mt. Zion.

But East Hastings by GY!BE would be good.

Define "it." There's been over 9000 songs mentioned.
  8. Re: Scientology Protest Music Mix CD

I've put this together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKiDd68ZszE it's the theme from 28 days later with various excerpts from Scientologists' (Miscavige/Cruise) and critics (WBM/Tory). Let me know what you think/want the mp3/files to add yr own excerpts to (I used Audacity).

Handthrow by Venetian Snares. Just because it'd be an awesome track to protest to, it has no relevance to Scientology/Anonymous etc.

    Relevant
Boards of Canada - In a beautiful place out in the country (written about a different cult though, Waco)
ABC - How to be a millionaire
David Bowie/Nirvana - The man who sold the world (?)
Luther Van Dross - The best things in life are free (and the track which has "but you can leave it to the birds and bees, I WANT MONEY. THAT'S WHAT I WANT"
    Probably anything from this page[/url:2po88jxy]
Hive - Weapons of Mass Destruction/Sci-Clone

    Unrelated
    (DJ) Fresh - X-Project (+intro)
    enduser - Rohypnol Beats
Future Prophecies - Warlords Rising/Bring the noise
High Contrast - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Hypnoskull - James B. Goldfuck'r (Epic Drama Edit)
    Pitchshifter - Hangar 84

I thought of another one, rather related to anonymous rallying against Scientology. Also suggesting unity among all humanity as the song intends.

Sesame Street - We All Sing With The Same Voice (My Name is You)
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=nBtk39S6Z9g
    http://members.tripod.com/Tiny_Dancer/sssounds.html mp3 (link on page)

    Ooo. Interesting.

VERY Appropriate. I Think I'll buzz the local CoS with this one on Friday.

What about Jonathan Coulton - Re: Your Brains ?
    http://rapidshare.com/files/26184707/Jo ... Brains.mp3

I find it funny a bunch of us outside the center singing asking them to come outside and "All we want to do is eat your brains." They call us terrorists and monsters. So let's make fun of that imagery they use. It's so ludicrous and I think it would make for a good show.

I just realized after posting it, that this song is talking to "Tom". Sound about right? :tom:

Plus, again, the chorus is hilarious and makes fun of them demonizing us.

Nice. I think pointing out 'Tom' in some songs would be nice.

Thought of another one...Offspring's "Why Don't You Get a Job." it may not be completely ontopic but I love the chorus, "I won't pay, I won't pay, yeah, no way, na na why don't you get a job?"

Plus it's fun. Steel drums FTW.

Caramell - Caramelldansen (Original AND Speedycake)

Why not add a bit of catchy Swedish eurobeat? :D
  24. Re: Scientology Protest Music Mix CD

    This.

Oh, and The Velvet Underground - "Beginning to See the Light"

Well I'm beginning to see the light.
Well I'm beginning to see the light.
    Some people work very hard,
but still they never get it right.

    The closing lyrics are:

I thought that you were my friend.
How does it feel to be loved?
How does it feel to be loved?

Anything'll do apart My Chemical Romance.

Going through my files, I uncovered a couple other possibilities, both meme and non-meme

Matsuken Samba II (better known as Yaranaika Samba)
the Ojays - Smiling Faces Sometimes (tell lies)
the Avalanches - Since I Left You (I've found new worlds)
    Oingo Boingo - Weird Science
Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me With Science
    (ironic)
War - Why Can't We Be Friends (again, ironic)
Lighthouse - One Fine Morning (inspirational song for the Scilons)

We'll fly to the east, we'll fly to the west
There'll be no place we can't call our own
We'll fly to the north, we'll fly to the south
Every planet will become our home

    :headbang:

Also, Randy Newman's Short People is a MUST!

I think this song would be funny:

    My Chemical Romance - Teenagers
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6EQAOmJrbw

It would be great if someone could change the lyrics to say "Scientology scares the living shit out of me!"
