Search Engine Tips

you can use the tools on google to speed up your searches and reduce the time you search
I will add to this thread,over time.

the first tip Is for searching news stories..I simplified this a bit to start...
so those who may be unfamiliar can improve their searches right away..


start with choosing Tools first

three menus will appear All News Recent Sort by Relevance..

here you can search for Stories using a drop down menu
1)Recent
2)Hour
3)24 hours
4)Week
5)Month
6)Year
7)Archives setting

8) enter in a custom Range by entering a start date and an end date




Here I chose 24 Hours.. this works well for searching for stories on a daily basis and eliminates having to comb thru older stories.

one more advanced tip that only works well along with a News search

at the bottom of the search page you can create an alert
this works great on stories that occasionally show up in News stories


at the bottom of the page CREATE ALERT..
this will allow you to have google send alerts to the email you provide when you fill out the field..
click Create Alert then follow the steps.. just like signing up for an email account..

here I created an Alert for Narconon..type in WHO or WHAT you want to set up an alert

do a normal search and then' go to the bottom of the page and follow the steps..

you will have to confirm the alert when it arrives in your email box..you can cancel them anytime.

I use this for searches when the subject matter Isn't a News story that produces a lot of hits

Example I wouldn't use this method when searching for Donald Trump News stories

save it for something or someone who doesn't show up In News stories very often
example David Miscavige...

I have 25 alerts set up this way...that's 25 search subjects on NEWS stories
google does the work for you.

in the past I easily managed 50 alerts..without taxing my mailbox,or my time

If you want to search the Internet... instead
it works the same way

Choosing Tools First
Here I set the field to (Past Hour)
this only shows what was posted in the last hour..

this works well if your only looking for New Items..
you can catch things as they are posted...

the 4th link is useless...

Pro Tip the 4th link Is a snooping site, or a porn link..( I know what to stray away from clicking)
NO relevant content Is one to ignore...the 4th link is a garbage site.. on this search

and the Cult related sites are easy to spot (top 3 are Cult related links)
