Dome Logo not rendering in dome: https://whyweprotest.net/community/styles/thunderdome/xenforo/domelogo.png
I'm on anonnet right now. What IRC client are you using and what server are you trying to connect to?
Ahh ok, I get you now. Yeah it seems to have been down for a while now. http://www.websitenotworking.com/irc.whyweprotest.net I'm not too sure when it will be back as I dont know who owns it, but using smeg.anonnet.org, ate.anonnet.org or irc.yukieiri.com should all work and the channel #whyweprotest is still the same.
Part Posting is how I go about it. Breaking up a large text into segments with a word processor that counts characters is how I proceed with a large body of text to post.
Yes. It was slow before though. Admin obviously must be using some sort of a sextuple-core super conductor CPU and direct mindmeld link with the server and hence doesn't notice these things.
https (secure) is quite a bit slower than http (normal). IIUC we're relying on Cloudflare for the https decryption, so speeds could be varying in different parts of the world depending on how well-resourced Cloudflare is in that area. The spec of your own PC will also make more of a difference now we're using https.
My droid loads the new forum more quickly then before but pc is a lot slower. But the advantages of Cloudflare offset that.
Actually it's understandable that your phone will load it quicker. The majority of images are now loading through WWP asset proxy meaning that you have an awful lot less DNS lookups and you can take advantage of the HTTP keep-alive functionality. On the flip side, you can only load so many requests from a domain at once, which can bottleneck... pros and cons etc
I'm getting HTTP/HTTPS security prompts all the time now in IE 8 (not just when adding image link in the editor. as I reported before). This is where the pop-up asks: "do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?" and you have to click "No". (btw, I think it was the opposite way round in earlier IE versions due to different wording). So I made the effort to find out how to disable the warning. To get rid of this prompt, do this: 1. Go to Tools->Internet Options->Security 2. Select the ‘Security’ tab 3. Click the ‘Custom Level’ button 4. In the ‘Miscellaneous’ section change “Display mixed content” to Enable Source: http://blog.httpwatch.com/2009/04/2...-webpage-content-that-was-delivered-securely/ (might be some useful info the developers there too because it also gives info on how to sniff out the cause of this problem on the site in the first place). Hope that helps anyone else who was getting the same problem.
IE9. Worked before the upgrade. I got it to work in Firefox, but as I use IE9 more, it would be nice if it worked there, too.
Are others having a problem receiving email confirmations? If it's a continuing problem, is it an easy fix? Maybe we could put it on the to do list. Thanks, I know there's a lot on the plate. Edit: This user request evidently is referring to Registration confirmation emails. Dragon, since registrations are being completed still, could you be more precise with the description of the problem? Thanks.
There are new registrations getting through on a regular basis, aside from a possible hiccup 2 days ago iirc. Perhaps it is only some locations. Have you tried again?
I just tried, with [deleted anonymous sock mail provider] No problems, worked instantly. If they've tried again on multiple occasions, the problem could be with that person's own webmail that's filtering or not receiving.
