sticker and stencil campaign

Discussion in 'Projects' started by Anonymous, Jan 14, 2011.

  1. What if you mixed food coloring and water in a plastic sprayer and wrote messages on snowbanks and sidewalks and paths covered with snow? That sounds legal but I am not entirely sure.

Don't know where you live, but here in the UK, the police care not a fuck whether your paint is 'water-soluble' or cellulose. Chalk on pavements can also be vandalism without permission/permit/mood of the copper. Other countries may be much more liberal than this, I don't know.

There's also the people that use pressure washers with stencils and 'clean' a design onto a dirty wall or pavement. They look pretty cool

  4. Spraying will achieve nothing positive.

Only the sort of people who look at graffiti and be impressed by it are probably not the type of people you want helping you on a serious campaign. It's no different to the other moronic "tagging" you see in run-down areas all the time these days. It's ugly and will make more people pissed off and therefore probably care even less about our cause than it will ever realistically get the kind of people we need onside. We are not trying to become the next Banksy.

The other thing it could also achieve is getting you arrested, not really sure if that's a negative point or not yet if this is your attitude.

You used to see people doing art with chalk and things on the streets of London, however i do seem to remember some story being on the news not too long ago about people being outraged about the arrest of one of these artists, so i'm not sure of the legality of that any more either (at least not here in the UK). Which does seem extreme, it was only chalk and most people liked to look at it since it only lasts for a short time.

However, doing it in something easy to remove would be a far better option than using spray cans any day of the week. Especially when the community service you normally get given when caught involves you scrubbing it off.

I confess, when I look at graffito I find myself impressed more often than not.
Sorry for helping you all out on this serious campaign to depose the smelly Dwarf and restore Mayo-Rathbun to their seat of power. I could care less about the cause but I have to give props to my homies.

First class, YO, this is bad!
