why should a person end scientology? I know those people - as shoppers, seem very friendly and naive, but I never go there. I just don't want to hang out with them or hear any of their lectures. I have had enough of science fiction for the rest of my life. But some people need stories. OK- i know Ritalin is a drug, i don't use it under the counter and I'm sorry I gave it to students- that was my job - so what I'm saying this- you take that HDG 1 down and than you do what? Kabbalah? Satanism? people NEED stories. (I have lots of stories my self LOL)

I think the problem is that Scientology practiced in the context of the CoS - is that the 3rd dynamic (or survival of the group - and specifically the "Church") overrides all other considerations.

Now, Freezone Scientology is a bit more a grey area, but has the potential to overcome the most dangerous aspects of Scientology though what is essentially a free-market system. Like with Christianity splitting into many denominations - if you think what you're being told is not quite right - or simply not right for you - you still have the option of finding another FZ group which is more in alignment with your own views (that is if one didn't wish to abandon Scientology all-together).

Importantly, the absence of the institutional mechanisms to quell dissent and force absolute agreement with current management - as is the case with the CoS, I think will help the FZ'ers avoid the more reprehensible practices of the CoS.

Note: I think there are serious problems with Hubbardarian Philosophy, but I don't think the solution is complete abolition - Rather, I think it lies in giving oxygen and support to those who are saying "Hey, if you get something out of this, great - but if not, that's cool too!"

I don't expect all people share my views, but I'd be surprised if I was the only person here who is reasoning along these lines. Anyhow, I read this project as one aiming to end the CoS (institution), rather than an all-out ideological war against Hubbardarian Philosophy - and for the reasons outlined above I'd contend they are two very different issues - the former being at the core of this project (and others of it's ilk).

I have been spamming my preferred social networking sites with bulletins of said list, and links to said list. I feel that though a large portion may not care, the majority will click the link just because I give them little choice.
Here is to hoping that this works.
I also have plans to use my pull on a certain website, to have a definition that includes this list.

I've been expelled (from the cult) twice. I was quite amused to find that a person who was quite instrumental in my first expulsion was herself expelled a year or two later. Found her on some enemy list the cult created and that an OG critic posted to a.r.s.

In any event, knowing who's out and who's going public (for those who are in a position to do so) would be very helpful to anyone thinking of leaving.
