The Rain and Illegal Grading at Gold Several people have been contacting county and state officials about the grading at Gold Base. As of yesterday, there are still NO permits on file for this work. Last week: Now we're in the middle of the first significant winter storm, with two more on the way down from the north. Bringing heavy rain to SoCal, mudslides, meteorological mayhem. So, the intrepid AO went out to Gold in it to photograph the grading. He reports streams of mud-laden water encroaching on Gilman Hot Springs Road. He reported fairly light rain last night, but that area is volatile as far as runoff goes. It's a desert, and flashfloods are common in desert environments. Ask anyone who's camped in a gully. Oh, you can't. They drown. Note the roll of papers in her grubby paw. Was she summoned there to 'splain herself, or try to weasel a retroactive permit out of the county? Link to the simple permit procedure graphic given out by Riverside County: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IZYXGWDQ I am positive that this whole thing is a tactic to get the highway closed in favor of an alternate route that will bypass Gold, and give them what they want; the ability to do whatever the fuck they want to do without public scrutiny to the people unfortunate enough to be held there. Two more storms on the way. This could be entertaining, particularly if there are accidents caused by Gold Base drooling mud all over the highway. Negligence, a disregard for public safety, actions that expose their "concern" for traffic and protesters as lies. Pray for rain in Riverside, faggots!
