  7. "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C.S. Lewis

The more they tighten their grip, the more websites and tweets will slip through their fingers.

  10. And we put up with them finding out about all that, the hard way. At least it's lulzy. ;)

    Yes, true.
But I've yet to hear of a government in all of human history that actually had a learning curve that wasn't a flat line.

What this tells us is that Iranians do not agree with their government. There is a long history of resistance in Iran starting with resistance against the Shaw Shah, then resistance against the Islamists who replaced him.

    Shaw ran Iran too?

I guess put simply that's not far from the truth!

They certainly had no idea what they were getting themselves in for when they deposed the Shah. But it didn't them long to find out:( But by that time it was too late.

I thought that rather amusing too. :)

More recently the Iranian regime has blocked access/taken offline many "hard-line" Iranian blogs and news sources in a lead to their elections...ensuring harmony I suppose. ;)
