A Scientology related company, Metagenics, made Ben Carson a big deal by donating a bunch of money to Johns Hopkins, which made Carson Grand Poobah of something.

Metagenics... I think an ex Reed Slatkin guy founded that one. Anyway, good to keep an eye on Sci connected stuff in politics.

So the Zodiac Killer is out of the race?

  5. The Trumps are the newest American Political Dynasty like the Bushes. Can they be has bad as the Bushes? Their idiot son spoke in unformed sentences and made up words perhaps due to his cocaine dabbling, and went on to be president after his brother Jeb stole the election for him (this is all true)

I dunno this is becoming lulzy-
His PAC keeps losing leaders so it's hard to raise the money he admits he needs now.
House Speaker Paul Ryan ( second in line when someone shoots The Prez) won't support him, a bevy of Republicans have already blended the knee, several have refused, the leader of the Republican National Committee is arguing with Ryan now. They can't get it together- the Republicans are getting what is inevitable when you ignore the people you are supposed to serve.

I don't usually agree with Glenn Beck, but I think his political analysis is spot on. Nobody want Clinton, but Trump is an even worse option.

"On Tuesday, Mother Jones broke the story that the Trump campaign had selected William Johnson, a prominent white nationalist leader, as a California delegate. The Trump campaign responded with the following statement:

Yesterday the Trump campaign submitted its list of California delegates to be certified by the Secretary of State of California. A database error led to the inclusion of a potential delegate that had been rejected and removed from the campaign's list in February 2016."

"Update, 6pm PDT: ABC News' Candace Smith reports that Johnson may remain a Trump delegate per California regulations"

"No, if I were critiquing Trump’s foreign policy views it would not be on inconsistency, hypocrisy or lying. It would be that he shows no sign of having asked the most important question: What are the real foreign policy challenges the next president will face? I don’t think he has a clue, because if he did, he wouldn’t want the job. This is one of the worst times to be conducting U.S. foreign policy."

What if Trump is there as a red herring?
So whoever actually gets the Rep nod will get all the anti Clinton votes rushing towards them out of sheer relief - including the anti Clinton Dems and non partisans.

Nah Trump is too egotistical to play that role ...

    But are his supposed backers?

Hmmm very interesting to see how it plays out

(And the worst thing is, I now can't even mock your politics and claim ours is superior since the UK now imitates them so closel. SMDH)

    Donald Trump empowers these people.

"The Leaders were arrested on Aug. 19 on suspicion of beating Rodriguez, then 58, as he slept in a subway station. The men told police they targeted their victim because they believed he was an illegal immigrant.

The victim, Guillermo Rodriguez, said in a statement that he was in fact a permanent resident.

“I came to this country many years ago and worked hard in the farm fields to provide produce to people here. I actually became a permanent resident of this country years ago, although if I had been undocumented I still would not have deserved to be beaten this way,” Rodriguez said in a prepared statement read by Assistant District Attorney Nicole Rimar before the sentencing.

The pair punched and kicked Rodriguez, and one of the men repeatedly struck him with a metal pole, before the two walked off laughing, prosecutors said.

According to a police report, they told officers, “Donald Trump was right: All these illegals need to be deported.”

    He encourages this shit

Stephen Colbert's 10 Best Lines from His CBS Upfront Act | Hollywood Reporter

After an opening musical bit from James Cordon, CBS brought out Stephen Colbert in the middle of its upfront presentation Wednesday.

Unlike Jimmy Kimmel, who took jabs at Fox, NBC and CBS during his ABC upfronts roast on Tuesday, the Late Show host steered clear of knocking other networks. True to form, he instead used the platorm for a politically themed stand-up set that saw him mock Bernie Sanders, Jeb Bush and, of course, Donald Trump.

"I went almost a minute without mentioning him," Colbert said of the Republican candidate, adding: "I think I just doubled CNN's record."

    1. It's an honor for me to be on the Tiffany Network. CBS is home to Criminal Minds, Scorpions and TV's No. 1 drama NCIS. And that is why when people think of murder and dead hookers, they think CBS.

    2. CBS is also the home of great reality shows like Big Brother, Survivor and, thanks to the coverage of Donald Trump, The Amazing Racist. I went almost a minute without mentioning him. I think I just doubled CNN's record.

    3. Honestly, it's been incredible to host the Late Show during the election. It's an honor. 2016 has been a very big year for comedy, and if Trump wins, 2017 will be an even bigger year for tragedy.

    4. A new poll that came out yesterday says that 87 percent of Republicans are supporting Donald Trump. The other 13 percent are currently standing on bridges, looking vacantly into the distance. 87 percent is pretty amazing. He is slowly unifying the Republican party. All it took was no other options. Then, a few more weeks to make sure there are really no other options? Have we checked?

    6. On the Late Show, we don't just talk about candidates like Trump, Bernie and Hillary — I talk to them. On my very first episode, I interviewed Jeb Bush for 12 minutes. That's right, I had him on for half of his entire campaign.

    7. I also talked to Joe Biden, Paul Ryan, Elizabeth Warren — it's a regular who's who of who you wish was running for president.

    8. And one of the things I like most about hosting the Late Show is that anything can happen on any given night. For instance, just recently Helen Mirren came on the show and before she sat down, she kissed me passionately. But as much as I enjoyed that, I want to assure you advertisers there is nothing I would rather kiss than your asses.

Trump tells NRA Clinton will abolish 2nd Amendment | CNN

Donald Trump on Friday told the National Rifle Association that Hillary Clinton would take away the right to bear arms, moments after the gun group endorsed the presumptive GOP nominee at its annual meeting here.

Calling the endorsement a "fantastic honor," Trump dove right into attacking Clinton, saying the Democratic presidential front-runner "wants to abolish the Second Amendment."

"We're not going to let that happen," Trump said. "We're going to preserve it, we're going to cherish it."

"We're getting rid of gun-free zones, I can tell you," he said today.
