Without question, there are numerous problems and issues with the rapid research and marketing of pharmaceuticals on today's marketplace.

I myself was prescribed Celebrex before it was taken off the market. My doctor thought the drug was some kinda salvation for anyone with high blood pressure.

I smelled a rat and consumed very little of it and then destroyed the drug I had been prescribed.

I didn't say "I told you so..." to my doctor after the drug was taken off the market.

I take lots of Rx medications that keep me alive. Every drug is dangerous and/or has side effects. Good Doctors weigh the up and downsides relative to their patients.

The life of my Son was saved by SSRI drugs.

Nothing changes. $cilons and CCHR are extremely dangerous moonbats.

We monitor the risks of drugs better once they're in use. When people have problems that might be due to a drug, they talk to their doctor and go off it. But doctors and patients don't usually let the FDA know about the problem. It's paperwork and people are busy.

So there are real problems to solve to improve our understanding of adverse reactions. Sadly, the CCHR isn't helping.

I don't think the CCHR has any interest in tweaking post approval surveillance or anything like that. I think they just want to scare the public about the psychs. It's fun having an enemy.

Tom Cruise Not a Kook! Pfizer Protest Linked to Scientology, But Don't Tell the Protesters That
    http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/07/tom_cruise_not.php

Might be a story Catholic Online and Randy Sly is interested in

    can anyone contact Randy?

A friend to Runnin' Scared send us some very interesting photos from the site of a protest yesterday outside the Pfizer building on East 42nd Street. She noticed right away a reference to everyone's favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise, in one of the signs, which read, "Tom Cruise Not a Kook! Psychiatric Abuse Epidemic Is Real!" Other signs made reference to various psychiatric drugs, which Cruise famously ran down when he went fairly loony in 2005. (Couch jumping. Surely you remember.) Our friend looked at the literature and found a direct tie to Scientology. But when she brought that up to the protesters? Well, they didn't react too kindly.

    From our correspondent:
They told me they were Catholics and even had a little table with saints and crosses. But when I pointed out that the CCHR link on their flier was Scientology-related, some lady began screaming at me that I was ignorant and was a bigot.
Our heroine is talking about the reference to the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, an anti-psychiatry Scientology front group, whose website (COS link removed) is mentioned on the fliers being handed out yesterday:

    CCHRFlier.jpg

Could it be the "Catholics" at the protest were really unaware they were doing the work of Scientology? The mind reels.

There is a good part on Joe Rogan's Ustream episode this week with Duncan T Russel who was on Anti-depressants and he said he needed them to function but then after a bit he found something else which worked for him and he didn't need them anymore, the general point near the end is different things will work for different people it's all about exploring every option.

As for these people championing Cruise and having the CCHR link it kind of shoots them down.

    Things that work for me:
    Anti depressants
    working out at the gym
    Sex
    chocolate
    ice-cream

But anti-depressants provide the most stable support. Sex and chocolate and ice-cream are not always at hand.

A new OSA troll has appeared on the VV comment war scene, one who puts Louanne to shame & is very much reminiscent of the original utube trolls of the good ol days when blazing batshit raeging fkhead insanity reigned supreme.

"Mark Miglio" confirming Tony Ortega's newly minted triple platinum SP award and taking the public display of stupid evil cult cant help but look stupid and evil to whole new level since July 2011.

    Memo to self:
    Must do sign

    TOM CRUISE
    IS NOT A
    KOOK

Like a joke where the audience has to fill in the punchline in their heads, and considering we live in The Argument Culture, where the first response to anything is to disagree with it, this would spur some interesting thought processes in many brains.
Most resulting with the response: "Oh yes he is."

    Memo to self:
Next raid have only Pro-Scientology signs.

    Scientology
    Its Not a Cult
    Really

    Scientology
    Its Not Brainwashing
    Or Anything Like That

There are no suspicious deaths in Scientology

Scientology does not think gay people have a mental illness

    You've started something now hehe

That's one spooky picture of the Scientology student. He is not exactly the picture of health and happiness and does not appear like someone who is on the bridge to total freedom.

At the bottom of the ssristories.com site:
Oh well, I guess that settles that. ;P

That site's been on my radar since 2007, and I couldn't decide if it was a front or an enemy-of-an-enemy type ally of CoS.
There's no obvious CoS sites sharing the same hosting, but that doesn't mean much these days. (It was great back in the day when CoS ran all their sites direct from CoS servers, including WISE and CCHR.)

The shirts seem mighty suspicious to me, especially handing them out for free. That is standard CCHR tech for increasing the apparent size of their protests, and unlikely for a small group paying for them out of pocket.

The slanted slashed font Suicide on the back reminds me of CCHR stuff. What was on the front of the shirts?

On the front of their shirts there was a picture of the guy Valentino Vulaj who committed suicide. In addition, the protesters were bussed in. There was a giant bus parked on the 42 avenue, which appeared to belong to the protesters. There were also scores of policemen and a fenced-off barrier. So somebody must have gotten a permission for this protest. It can be checked who did it.
I personally think it's a case of a grieving family ignorant about Scientology and CCHR taking advantage of them.

Sara Bostock's daughter killed herself and Sara drug awareness activist. She has evidently not thoroughly researched CCHR enough. There's a bit about her here
