This is not just directed at the anonymous poster above, but to all users. Many of you know this stuff already and there's no need to remind you of it, but some of you oldfags seem to have forgotten it. Some of the newfags need to learn.

We've had several reports on this thread. So, let's clear the air here a bit:

* Unverified information is unverified. You will be (and should expect to be) called out anytime you post information without a source available. Credible dox include links to sites with the info you are citing, screenshots, photos, PDF documents, and so on. "Someone I know said..." is not dox. "This is true but I can't tell you how I know" is not dox.

* Sometimes, it may make sense to provide information without dox (even if you have them). Notably, there are times when this information can be useful in directing the hive's activity in a more productive way. You should still expect to be called out on this, so consider how you present that information and provide the appropriate disclaimer (if only to prevent someone from calling you out).

In addition, if you have confidence that you can trust a specific mod, then provide the background and dox to that mod and ask he/she/it to provide thread credibility on the topic for you. This has been done with success NUMEROUS times.

* If you are posting the information and dox are called for, then it's incumbent upon you, the poster, to provide those dox, not me, the user to go find them for you. If you want help, ask for help, but don't get shitty when someone calls for dox. From an ideal view, doxing accurately is the only way to distinguish between TRUTH and bullshit, between WWP and WITP, between usefulness and moonbattiness.

Open source verification is critical for our model of activism to work. (As are the lulz).

* If you cannot provide the dox for legal or other reasons, maybe you shouldn't be openly posting the information to begin with - perhaps it's better left to those involved directly in the incident. Choose carefully what information you share and do not share.

We can still have a discussion thread on doxing, but these 4 points are particularly relevant to this thread right now.

Edit: It would also serve to separate fact from fiction for someone to periodically post a comprehensive update of information collected in the thread that has been verified. This keeps everyone on the same page in terms of what information is confirmed and what is not. Use the search function to find the Organic Liaison and/or Rex Fowler megathreads for good examples of how to do this.

Well said, Orson. There are lots of reasons for providing dox, not the least of which is to avoid falsely accusing innocent people. It doesn't matter who gets the "credit" for uncovering information; it's VERY important that we post accurate and credible information. For a whole lot of reasons.

You can always use private conversations to speculate--but when posting on the forum, please do help to keep the standard of documentation high.

Researching & finding relevant info on people (playing cyber-detective) is a skill and a talent that has blessed Anonymous and critics, in general, in getting solid info on perps in the cult. I remember when I couldn't give dox on Aaron, because those in the know felt it could severely undermine the good results we were seeking. This is just one example, but all we could say was: we say this and cannot provide dox. Yet.

There are a good number of reasons that dox cannot be given, and sure, people are free to demand them. They may not get their wish, as I said, for numerous reasons. Yet, for those brave people to come out and say the unsaid, is one of the positive points of WWP, in my opinion.

I encourage the brave to speak out, and I plead for more. Let the reader choose for themselves what is of value, and what is true. This is the Internet, after all.

The question is, what is the point of the doxing going on in this thread now? Identify the perp that assaulted Tommy, hand over relevant info on the perp to the appropriate parties. Beyond that, I don't see the need, personally, for some of the effort being made here. Shocker: Scientologist has family in Scientology.

I'm not usually the one to play devils advocate but that swing looked like he was trying to swat tommys recording device and tape player. he immediately says stop recording me so that's the clue of what his true target was, we haven't seen past tapes so this may have been the 9001th time that he asked tommy to stop filming him. Being filmed is kinda creepy, even creepier when the person doing the filming is already a CREEP in your mind. if tommy was smart he would have moved his face into the path of that guys fist. Also shoddy camera work on behalf of his wife, way to blow it. Still illegal to break your equipment but don't think this guy was trying to hurt him. Remember if a scientologist was really trying to hurt you, it's much easier to grab a 45 and blast your ass (been done before) - just sayin' - also fail on using bad words and losing control / calm... not talking about the scilon either.
