Tor Network Map

  1. I am using Tor in Iran and since last week the tor network map shows red dots on the map of Iran. Should I be worried?
  2. 10½ cruised

The red dots are the locations of all the 1900+ tor relays, nothing to worry about.
  3. Agree. No reason to worry, but don't ever forget that anything you type can be seen by whoever's running the exit node. They CANNOT TELL WHERE YOU ARE, but if you give personally identifying information (or sign into something that can be linked to you), they could very easily use it to identify you.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find your government controlling a few exit nodes for exactly this purpose (maybe in Iran, maybe abroad).

    Stay safe. :)
