Aruba and Cartagena, Colombia are outside the range of the tracking signals.

See this map for worldwide coverage. You can zoom in on the map.

I know from past experience keeping tabs of the Freewinds, when it goes to Aruba or Cartagena, the AIS tracking signal is lost.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

It's been "stuck" in the incorrect location near UK for a few weeks.

There is another ship called Freewinds, a small, private yacht, owned by a couple of psychs. I think it hails out of the UK, I don't remember off the top of my head.

Bear in mind, the Freewinds is actually called the MV Freewinds, while this other smaller boat is just "Freewinds", without the "MV". Maybe the tracking software is getting the 2 ships confused.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

    ^^ Agreed ^^

I should have looked at this more closely before my last post. Given we know she sailed Aruba on the 14th Oct - there's no way she could have been in the English Channel on the 15th Oct.

I've checked other sources via other mediums and the feedback was there is no evidence she has ever ventured across the Atlantic, recently or historically.

    Hypothetically speaking, she could at top speed have sailed from Aruba on the 14th got to Hastings area, if not slightly further, and then made it back to Aruba on the 3rd Nov;

    http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/9457/hypospeed.jpg

But this would have left her with almost no time to do anything once she got to the UK Cont area other than turn around.

As said, I don't think they'd be stupid enough to take her across the Atlantic given her age, especially during the hurricane season.

Thanks for the clarification. It was surprising, to say the least.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

I've seen the same glitch on the MT site before (Freewinds in English Channel), but it usually clears up as soon as MV Freewinds gets back in range of AIS receivers. Never seen the glitch last this long though. I'm guessing as soon as MV Freewinds is back "on the radar" in Bonaire or Cuacao, the glitch will be corrected.

    Just browsing through scn-to-irs-1023-freewinds.pdf (1993)(SciRecords.rar)...
It looks like Carl Heldt and Maureen Brigatti are trustees for a lot of Scientology's money slush funds (or were in 1993).

LOL a 42 year old ex-car ferry filled with asbestos - makes me laugh that this is the flagship of the cult. What a rust bucket.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

It was originally planned to be a car ferry, but plans changed mid-construction, so "ex-car ferry" isn't quite correct.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

Ah, OK. It was a second hand ship, and is there truth in the rumour that the original owner died in suspicious circumstances just after the cult aquired the vessel?

Hello! OP here. Hoping you are all well.

Please note that this will be my last update on the Freewinds for 2010 but in the spirit of Christmas and shit I'm including some additional data than just her recent movements.

Some of this will already be known, hopefully some of it will not. Enjoy.

First of all - her movements since my last post:

In all the years since I first began reviewing information about Co$ on the Internet, this is the first anyone has ever published that particular rumor. Would you kindly fill us in as to where you acquired this quaint notion?

I've seen it pop on the Freewinds Wikipedia article once or twice .. and then vanish due to lack of dox.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

Bonny Mott infiltrated the Bud and Lee Fields' Longboat Key, Florida home as a governess. She was ordered by Marty Rathbun, one of the heads of the Scientology Intelligence Agency OSA, to murder Bud Fields because he wouldn't sell this boat (La Boheme) to Scientology that Miscavige wanted. After Fields was murdered, the boat was bought by Scientology within one week and was renamed the Freewinds, where New OT VIII and other upper level courses are now delivered.

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

    From Lawrence Woodcraft Affidavit

"The Freewinds is based out of Curacao, in the Netherland Antilles. They do this primarily as a money laundering operation. For example, if you buy books or tapes or courses that are delivered on the Freewinds, the bill is invoiced on your credit card through a bank in Curacao.

"They often charge state tax and do not pay the taxes to the state doing it this way, and this is only one of the multitude of criminal acts I have asked State and Federal authorities to investigate in order to get their tax exemption overturned.

"It used to be a cruise ship called 'La Boheme.' The boat broker who handled the sale of La Boheme, Bud Fields, was found murdered in his home in Longboat Key, Florida, when he refused to sell the boat to Miscavige because he had been offered an unscheduled commission or a kickback from Norwegian Caribbean Lines, who was also interested at the time, according to Bonny Mott, who was the Authorization and Verification Unit Officer of the Commodore's Messenger Org back then who was posted as a 'nanny' in the home of Bud and Lee Fields in order to spy on him for OSA."

    how about "aborted car ferry"?

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

It was sold in August 1986. No mention of Bud.

<emphasis mine> That is a strong statement that I've seen indicated previously, but never stated as a fact.

I failed at finding the quote in your link, halp?

The link did remind me - yet again - about how it must have sucked to do research back in the 90s.
  30. DeathHamster Member

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

I haven't seen any evidence that a Bud Fields of Florida owned the Boheme.

The SPT articles refer to Finnish owners as does the Wikipedia article. (A large part of the article was done by nauticalfags, who take that stuff seriously.)

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

I thought Bud Fields was the broker , not the owner?
  32. DeathHamster Member

    Re: Tracking Of The Freewinds

But what's the source of that, other than the Fable document, which doesn't say where that information came from?

Odds are, the Fable document is a compilation of various other bits that were floating around in the 90s. Interesting, and maybe there's something to it, but without dox, it's not useful except as the starting point for a hunt which might be a wild goose chase.

Before the SPT archives went pay, I believe I retrieved all the Freewinds/Boheme articles, but I didn't come across any mentioning a Bud Fields or his death. (It is possible his death was mentioned without mentioning the Boheme. In which case my search wouldn't have found it.)
