That was the point of my post, given the ship's size and class, it should be carrying around 500-800 crew and passengers. My theory is the lower passenger decks got sealed up or the like due to the abstesos or other problems. given the fact they had to go overseas to get the work done, I highly doubt it's high end. Either way, something fucked up inside of the ship to the level they have to run undercapacity. Hell, knowing COS's tendency to inflate numbers, whose to say it's not less?
As for your pics, I get a 404 error.

I would love to get an interior shots of the ship, because, from the sounds of it, it is suffering some kind of serious structural problem and given the ship's age, engine trouble.

DAILY COLLECTION OF MARITIME PRESS CLIPPINGS 2010 – 056
    Thursday 25-02-2010

On Monday night February 22 the members and guests of the Antillean Chapter of the Royal Netherlandse Association of Marine Technology (acronym in Dutch KNVTS) organized the performance of the exclusive NASA movie on the Apollo space flights to the moon during the years
    1968-1972.
The 63 guests filling completely the theater of the cruiseship Freewinds were welcomed by Captain M. Napier, the commanding officer of the Freewinds, who always offers the facilities of his
ship to the members of the KNVTS and their guests, including the members of the Royal
    Netherlands Reserve Officers Association (Dutch

Amongst the guests of honor were the deputy commander of the Dutch Armed Forces in the Caribbean Captain J. P.D.(Jeroen) van Zaalen and the Deputy Director of the Coast Guard for the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba Colonel J.J.M. (Hans) Schreuders. Three high ranking officers of the United States Air Force were also amongst the guests of honor.
The performance was an enormous success and even attracted journalists and photographers of local newspapers who were on board the Freewinds to report on another event, the well known
    Freewinds concert.

The next is really ironic, in 2008 they ran a seminar on the pollution of the carribbean!

2008 Seminars Increase Awareness of Need to Protect Carribean Sea from Polulltion

"Caribbean Countries may be one step closer to having stricter pollution prevention measures in place to protect the Caribbean Sea from pollution by garbage from ships. This was the feeling following the successful completion of five seminars aimed at the ratification and implementation of Annex V of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL 73/78).

MARPOL Annex V provides guidelines and regulations for the discharge of garbage for ships at sea and in national ports. The five pollution prevention seminars took place from November 12 to 22, on board the M/V Freewinds, during its port visits to Saint Lucia, Barbados, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Antigua.

Mike Napier, Captain of the MV Freewinds, expressed his satisfaction with the results and outputs of the five national seminars which were "the culmination of months of collaborative effort between international, regional and local governmental agencies."

held a telethon on the Freewinds for Haiti
    Tweet this Posted on: 01/19/2010

    By VisitAruba.com

Aruba will be holding a telethon in support of Haiti on January 25 2010, in the wake of the recent earthquake tragedy that afflicted the country.

January 25 is a significant day for Aruba, being a public holiday that commemorates the birthday of G.F. (Betico) Croes. The Prime Minister of Aruba, Mr. Mike Eman, made this announcement in a press conference held along with Aruba Red Cross spokesperson Greg Peterson. Several of Betico Croes' children were also present for the announcement, and expressed their full support and honor for the event to be held on the date that is of particular significance to them and to Aruba as a whole.

Mr. Greg Peterson made an appeal to the members of the press to support and promote the event as Red Cross volunteers for this Telethon initiative.

The event will take place at the Aruba Entertainment Center commencing at 6pm in the evening of January 25th and will continue up until midnight. It will be widely broadcast on radio and other media. Banks will be present with ATMs to facilitate the collection of funds, and cellular providers Setar and Digicel will also facilitate donations via SMS. The event will include well-known bands from Aruba such as Claudius Phillips’ OREO, Tsunami, Youth Extreme and others and the Telethon event will close with performances by various international musicians who are in Aruba for a musicians' convention being held on the Freewinds vessel that visits Aruba on a regular basis.

Bit of trouble throwing anchors in BONIARE 2005
    The Boniare Reporter
    http://www.bonairereporter.com/news/005pdfs/07-22-05.pdf

On Monday morning a lifeboatfrom the cruise ship Freewinds was repeatedly throwing and retrieving a
heavy steel anchor in the area between the town pier and the Plasa Machi Mimi (vegetable stand). Within five minutes Bonaire Marine Park Manager, Ramon DeLeon, responded to a call made to Marine Park Headquarters and observed the action.
It is illegal to anchor anywhere in the Bonaire National Marine Park which are all the waters around Bonaire and
Klein Bonaire shallower than 200 ft. The area where the "anchoring drill" was being conducted is close to the town pier, one of Bonaire's most visited night dive sites, and the sandy bottom is home to
    countless sea creatures.
After contacting the Kralendijk Harbormaster to make sure that no special permission
had been granted, Park Manager DeLeon spoke with the officer of the lifeboat.
The officer said that he was aware of Bonaire's anchoring rules but that he was doing what he'd done before. He was unable to produce any evidence of permission.
As we go to press further action in the case is pending, G.D.

Doesn't Fleawinds have "open days" in order to ingratiate itself with the locals and to snag a few tourists?
Get on board, sneak away from the tour and slip a "You Found the Card" under Miscaviges cabin/office door (or just secrete them all over). It would freak the fucker out.

You may want to look into this further.
Don't forget you are in another country and we don't know exactly how much power COS has in any given area. Since the Bonaire government allows COS to dump there, I would imagine they have some sort of pull with the local government??

If you are going to be on vacation, this raid can end up ruining your stay.
Especially if you are not already namefagged.

why not ask your tour guide when they give a ship tour about them finding loads of asbestos? If there are americans on it, they will clear out in a heart beat and raise holy hell. Given how litigious we are, would not be shocked if someone sues about being exposed to asbestos and then COS would have to prove in court that the ship doesn't have it.

To whomever is going to Bonaire..... on occassion the Failwinds has community things every once in a while where people can go on the ship. Which would be MUCH more lulzier then raiding it.
