Sorry, Tarino, we'll make big bucks off of your misery, but we won't throw you a bone while you're asking for help.

The least they could have done was research whether the guy is really in desperate need and post the fucking info on how to give the guy some money.

Even if he is in "desperate need," why should anyone give him money? He is just some dude accused of a crime. There are millions of dudes accused of crimes all over the world. Granted, this is a high-profile case (which is why TMZ is reporting on it), but TMZ isn't obliged to help him solicit money for his defense.

A lot of us are closely watching what happens to Lightbourne and Bridgewater so that makes them a little bit more than just "some dude accused of a crime" here on wwp.

Lightbourne is not rich and he's in the fight of his life against one of richest and most famous Scientologists in the world. Of course not working for a year because of this fight has left him in trouble financially. Most everyone I know would be in severe financial trouble within 3-6 months of not being able to work.

But, you're right---it's TMZ's site and they can spin any story any way they want. I also have a right to my opinion and I think TMZ making money off of an article where they're being snotty about this poor guy sucks.

Perez was much worse. This was gentle by comparison. The commenters savaged them though.

Well yeah. I know we are closely interested in the case. But personally, to me, he is a dude accused of a crime. I honestly do not give more of a crap about his financial situation than I do about the many other people in his situation.

See above. I'd guess that there are thousands of people who haven't been working for a year who I'd care about more. Just because Lightbourne has found himself in the middle of a case involving a famous Scilon doesn't make me shed any tears for him.

    Eh. It's what they do.

You refer to him as "this poor guy." Do you believe he did nothing wrong at all? I'll concede he's a "poor guy" because he had the misfortune to be involved in this particular case. If he were charged with blackmailing some local person, the odds wouldn't be so stacked against him. But that doesn't make me want to try to raise money for him.

The phrase to use here is "Innocent until proven guilty", yet you seem to be flipping those words backwards. Still even though we might not make donations financially i still think we should offer him words of encouragement. Besides Travolta already has a history of suing other people:
