It's probably just the timing, what with their upcoming AO/Goldbase feature and all.

Just a follow-up, everyone should watch the French Scino-PR guy give the typical Scino PR lines WITH a french accent. It's just hilarious to hear the same crap Tommy Davis spews....but in a funny acccent.

Lol at your suggestion that the cos statement that this is an "inquisition" is both new, and a developement.

That's about as honest as your suggestion that you called this win before hand. In fact, I bet that was your "brace for epic fail" post above. Herro, your stupidity is seeping out the edges the moar you attempt to contain it.

I've often defended herro for the 'devil's advocate' role he plays.

But I think he plays an equally valuable role as a troll.

The reason we will defeat scientology is two-fold - 1) we are expert trolls, and 2) we cannot BE trolled. Unfortunately, (2) has slipped in the last year. Having active trolls on the forum keeps us strong - it's like regular innoculations. Being troll-able is like having an immune disorder.

The fact that Herro has actually kept people away from the forums, the fact that he's able to derail threads, says more about our failures than about his ideas. We're getting weak; and he's showing us that fact now, before it's too late.

Plus, sometimes his trolls are actually insightful - in which case the 'devil's advocate' role applies.

Son, I'm proud of you, really. Not too long ago you would have been the one pointing out the number of guests here. They grow up so fast.

Well the response came after the initial story was put up, so yes it's new. And it was the response of the defendant in the trial so yes it's a development.

Um, well I did post this back at the beginning of the thread before the verdict was delivered:

    So, uh, yeah.

I really don't consider myself a troll- but that makes your point all the more valid. If people here get so worked up over the shit I post I'd love to see what an actual, skilled troll could do to them.

Well, if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...

true trolls would exploit your endorsement of vaccines by claiming autism and treatment resistent viruses.
but before that happens, I'd like to mention that there still isn't a wikinews article... anyone with the privledges and ability could do that...

A casual observer (non-anon stuck at home sick today w/ only broadcast TV) reports seeing this story 3 times today. One (ABC) also mentioned Nightline and another also mentioned Paul Haggis.

On my way to work at 5 a.m. this morning the local talk-radio news mentioned the fraud conviction. Yay!!
Way over here in little ol' Perth, Western Australia.

Now that's a huge win in my mind!
And this on the same station that Cyrus Brooks gave an interview a year ago pushing the merits of Scientology.

    How's that feel Scientology Perth?
I guess you guys have run out of staff to phone me with your pathetic fair-game calls eh?

Hey guise, reporting from Peru, southamerica.

I heard the news about this today, on national radio. They said something like "The Church of Scientology was fined 400, 000 euros for fraud in france. The court said this institution misguides people with the objective of depraving them from their money".

some delicious sauce Tribunal francé multa a iglesia de la Cienciología en Francia y a sus dirigentes

Under international law, a court has jurisdiction over a person if the person is present in the jurisdiction. The Celebrity Center and Library are present in France. Therefore, the Court has jurisdiction over them and can order them to take action wherever.

Lol. Time to judge - "It would be our pleasure."

Sweet, John! I'm re-reading The Complex, as it happens. I didn't recognise Paul Haggis's name the first time. :)

Also, major kudos to Tony Ortega. He pulled no punches. And note under Slappy Miscavige's pic:

Just think, its only 2 days til staturday.

I really came across the news by coverage. We had a LOT today. Everything is going as we thought it would.

Yet I will disagree with those calling this "the beginning of the end". I think the beginning of the end started with Scientology itself. Scientology is stopping Scientology more than we are. However, that makes it all the more fun to watch.

We still have ground to cover, still have things we CAN do. I noticed that we have been getting bored, (I know I have) and this week has really brought in much needed life to the movement.

    The Catholic view:
Bad Day for Scientology: Hollywood Defection and a French Fraud Conviction - Catholic Online

Things we learn from this article......
It's the ("church") of scientology, not Church.
It is not a religion but a controversial and esoteric group.
They quote Hubbard right back at them "Scientology is not a religion".

So there you have it, the official Catholic view.
LOL, Catholics on the cult's shitlist.
