http://www.vice.com/read/the-journalist-who-was-banned-from-investigating-jerseys-child-abuse I am posting the link here for people to read, think about, and comment on.
The island, Jersey, is not New Jersey. It's a island in the English Channel, amongst what are known as "The Channel Islands."
The thread title can mislead, unless the VICE Article is read. And Jersey is used often as a short-form of New Jersey, and pronounced Joisey, usually in TV Shows. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Joisey

Interesting, although old article is quite old. I thought prosecutions had been made and the case had been closed? http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/mar/29/jersey-child-abuse-victims-compensation http://www.theguardian.com/media/2012/oct/08/jimmy-savile-jersey-childrens-home It's interesting to note that the former health minister was imprisoned for 3 months for statements made on his blog... http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/nov/04/jersey-stuart-syvret-jailed-blog-allegations NB That is not the way the Data Protection Act is used in the mainland UK. It's definitely an unusual use of that particular law. (Jersey's whole legal system seems rather unusual and insular). Do we have any more recent sources?

Interesting link I found while stumbling around the internet: http://cover up jersey. blogspot. coom On edit, I know nothing of british politics and I see they get political in places so I broke the link in case. But there are links there to the former lawmaker's own website as well as other articles on the subject.
