Uploading images against CoS locations has had an effect. CoS has helpfully marked a number of their locations as "permanently closed". (That's my image of the building at the top, which includes date and GPS info.) How Google is getting gamed in the fight both for and against the Church of Scientology June 28, 2016, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker The main problem with that, is that Google Maps is not our private army, and eventually they'll find a way to do a bulk clean-up of images that aren't directly related to the location that they've been stuck to. (They have very powerful tools to analyze and classify photos. Eventually they'll apply them.) To play it legit, I suggest virtual pickets. Needs: A camera, phone or tablet that includes date/time and GPS info in the images. (Might have to switch it on.) A non-objectionable sign (e.g. "Where's Shelly?" or "Call Me" rather than "FUCK THE CULT!" or even just a GF mask. A helper to take the picture, selfie-stick or long arms. Take a picture in front of the Scientology building, including as much of the building as possible -- not just the sign. Make your get-away. (Or stay to picket.) Upload it against that location, making sure not to lose the time/location info. (Avoid editing.) Careful about which id you upload from. (Tweet it too if you like.) If the images are of that location, and include data that gives Google a high confidence of when and where they were taken, they'll probably blow-off any Scientology complaints because this will be working with Google instead of against them. And when anyone looks at a Scientology location, they'll see images of a permanent virtual picket. (Even closing all their locations won't stop that.)
Love this, but don't agree with the "Fuck the Cult" sign. OR Where's Shelly or Call Me. (not enough info) You only have a small window to grab someone's attention. The majority of the public does not who Shelly is. Although the lulz would be nice. Since COS disconnection seems to be currently on the up swing, especially with Leah's new show coming out, I think "Scientology Disconnects Families" would be a much better choice? IMO Maybe after a while you can add more lulzier signs, but for now I think something that will hit home with everyone is the better way to go.
People can use whatever sign they want. I don't plan to travel to every org for this. Scientology will scream hateful bigotry, but so long as no normal person would interpret the sign that way, it should be good with Google.
