The USA. The land of the free. But are we truly free? The Constitution states in the First Amendment our rights as citizens of the United States. "Freedom of speech, religion, press, petition, and assembly." Do we truly have these rights anymore? No, we do not. It is time Americans wake up! The government has demolished these rights of ours. The government spies on our emails, phone calls and messages, and even our internet searches. The government states it is for our better good to protect us against another incident like 9/11. Well, it is a bunch of bullshit. Bottom line is the United States government has taken away our rights as Americans and invaded our personal privacies. Don't believe me? Take a look at Edward Snowden. Leave behind the controversies on the topic and just look at the facts. Edward Snowden revealed details about classified United States government surveillance programs. And look who is mad... the United States government. The United States government is mad because the details Snowden released are true. Even one of the United States government's own could not deal with the arrogance and corruption of the government. WAKE UP! The government controls us, we are not free! We follow the government and everything it wants us to be. We listen to a bunch of corrupt people whoms only concern is power. It wants us to be a bunch of conformists so it is easier to have more control of us. If we all think and act the same way, the government will have won and there no longer will be hope for America. The hope for America already seems to be fading because every American does the same thing. We go to school, get an education, get a job, make money, get married, have children, save money for our old age, pay taxes, pay our bills, obey the law, and eventually die. And this behavior is rewarded... why? There is no freedom in this kind of conformity living, no individuality, and of course, no excitement. H. W Auden warned us against conformity in his poem, The Unknown Citizen. Read it and maybe you will learn something. Learn that life is too short to not make it fun and interesting. Make life your own. Be free. And think. Think while you still can. It is America's last hope to be free. I want to be free. I deserve to be free as well as all humans. John Locke once stated humans' natural rights. What happened to these rights of life, liberty, and property? Do you even care about your god-given rights? If you do, DO NOT remain silent anymore. You are not alone. There is a group of people with the same idea as you to be FREE. We no longer will remain silent. It's time for a change.

Hi ozzie thanks for posting this outside of the newcomers area. I'll delete the duplicate post, this is a better place for it than the newcomers thread.

You need a soap box and a suit , take the message to a street corner amidst the general public. Most people here have already "woken up" and some wish they could go back to sleep but can't. Try reading Chomsky on Anarchism

I love paragraphs. I wish OP could learn to love them, too.
