    Re: The Unexpected

I appreciate & spend more time with my family. It sucks to watch all of these families torn apart. It makes me appreciate my own even more.

I've gained the confidence to be able to make a difference out there. I've also become less egotistical. After all, there is no I in ANONYMOUS but there is US.

    Re: The Unexpected

I had stumbled across xenu.net not long before chanology began.
I was infuriated by what I learned about the cult during my time lurking there. I did more research on the subject and became even more enraged by the abuses of this cult but I felt so fucking helpless to do anything about it.
There was a stirring on the internet just before Andrew Morton's book came out.
Then there was the Crazy Cruise video.
Then there was Anonymous - suddenly, there was a way to do something about it and I didn't feel helpless to do something about it anymore. With Anonymous, I saw a way to give the victims a voice and the protection in numbers to use it.

It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to see that now the cult is powerless to make a move without the spotlight of society shining on them for all the world to see them for what they really are. Anonymous is watching every move they make.

Also, the lulz. Anonymous never fails to deliver those.

I have made friends on the other side of the world.
I can change the world a little from my bed.
I have seen a couple of images I would rather I had never seen.
I'm more tolerant of aggressive posts.
I believe the CoS will be destroyed in its current form.

    Re: The Unexpected

I've gained the "pics or it didn't happen" approach in everyone that makes a substantial claim. Knowing the Church of Scientology loves to fabricate numbers to prove their point (Narconon has a 70% success rate, there are 10 million Scientologists around the world, etc). I knew the Church of Scientology was bad before Chanology, and have immunized myself to the ways of scilon trolls and have grown tolerant over regular trolls.

So yeah... the big thing is emphasis on critical thinking, something the Church of Scientology DOESN'T encourage.

  25. Re: What has Anonymous done for YOU?

I had a netcom.com shell account back when hkk had one there too.
I've been watching the evils of scientology ever since the forged RMGROUP of A.R.S. back when usenet still travelled on UUCP.

What anonymous has done for/to/at me since the tom cruise youtube crisis
is notch up my entertainment level by orders of magnitude compared to OCMB and ARS

Re: What has Anonymous done for YOU?

it was around 2006, I visited ytmnd and 4chan. I left both sites around spring 2007, learning not to take myself seriously, and really just to have fun.

I still have a history against the church (from both the ytmnd about scientology and the good old "you are a fucking moron" YAAFM 11: Scientology

Then my buddy told me about a flash site called SCIENTOLOUGHIEGUH!!! (or something like that) and I watched it. I was like, what the hell is going on, and why is scientology important to the internets again? Of course, when I saw "anonymous" I knew what had to be done.

Trufax. Without the mud, the hippies, the brown acid.
Without 300,000 more old longhaird fucks who claim they were there even though they were only twelve at the time.
Without leaving the communications hub in your living room.

Of course, twenty years from now when you faggots are greying and trying to impress the current crop of youngins, you'll still be able to say, "I was there. I posted anonymously."

Anonymous gave me an outlet for my RAEG and lulz. It also let me put my writing and creative talents to good use.

It also helped me learn to navigate Downtown Minneapolis and to sweet talk the cops.

Re: What has Anonymous done for YOU?

Anonymous touched me in my bathing suit area.

And given me a creative outlet as far as focus for making videos and writing fliers and I have met some great local folks who also know and want to inform others about this dangerous and abusive cult.

Anonymous has given me a solid laff riot filled target for my love of mockery and scorn.

Also, it has brought great lulz and the opportunity to cause real change and help in bringing down a huge corporation at the same time.
