What the Original OTVIII might have been I was just doing some reading when I stumbled upon this little gem: http://www.ezlink.com/~perry/CoS/Theology/JesseOT8.htm It's an excerpt transcript from the Jesse Prince[/url:18cfqbsc] tapes. To sum up the document, Jesse talks about how he spoke to DM about OTVIII. Apparently the OTVIII out now is not the original, and in the transcript Jesse states that the original OTVIII documents were so bad that people who had been in scientology for YEARS blew after reading OTVIII: I wonder if anonymous could deliver...you know, get some more info about the original OTVIII...I think it would really help the cause if it came out, or even put out the info that the original OTVIII was so bad that it had to be changed. I think it may have something to do with what was said in the Fishman affidavit[/url:18cfqbsc], but possibly a document that was far more sinister perhaps?
Re: What the Origional OTVIII might have been Not one person who has completed OT VIII (old or new) has ever confirmed the description in the Fishman Affidavit. Fishman did not run OT VIII himself, nor can I find any statement by him on how he obtained the materials. IMHO the Fishman OT VIII is far too coherent and too upbeat to have been written by Hubbard. It is just as plausible that people quit Scientology after the original OT VIII for the same reason Michael quit after New OT VIII: They could no longer deny they'd been scammed. Some early OT VIIIs became suicidal when they realized just how much they had fucked up their lives. These people presumably want to keep Scientology out of their lives forever and forget the whole thing.
