Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else. But I can't find the site rules. Where be they?

Edit: DAMNNN!!! I spent 6 mins looking without success then the INSTANT I post this post I see them!

    Bottom right.

Edit #2: Hmmm. Not the wwp rules I know and love.

The first rule of WWP, is you don't talk about the rules of WWP.

  3. Would be helpful if you told us where you found them.

This is under discussion--it has had to wait for a long time because of tasks that were essential to the website's daily functioning. Mods are discussing it as we speak...

The old infraction system seemed better.
I used to rage getting one point for tinfoil and so on.
But i knew where i stood with the old system.

I quite liked the old point system too.

I don't really care either way, but the old point system wasn't as objective as it sounded, and mods had CONSTANT hate mail from people who couldn't stand to be warned about anything. Also, we made mistakes operating on our own. At this point, we make such decisions by consensus after discussion, which in my opinion is much better than everyone having the ability to ban/infract and each doing so according to his/her judgment. I think we are probably headed in a more open-ended direction, with perhaps guidelines but no codified system. That's just my guess after participating in a few discussions.

I remember past mods being upset about hate mail.
But reaching consensus by discussion may sound like there are no rules and the mod team is winging it as problems arise.
Although for the most part it seems the majority of the user base know whats acceptable to post.
But no hate mail from me.

I'm not saying there won't be rules. I think something more specific will eventually be put in place. But that's also something that we discuss before doing. I think it would be helpful to mods as well as users.

Mod Edit: I reserve the right to be wrong about this. I'm not speaking for the admins.

It's come as a bit of a shock to know that there are no rules yet.
I just took it for granted and assumed there were somewhere.
When discussing the new rules please make sure that posting Asian babes with big heads don't get deleted.
    It would make my day.
    Thanks.

The only babes that get deleted are the ones that could be seen as CP. That's a potential legal problem for the site.
  13. Anonymous Member

I thought that might of been the reason.
  14. Miranda Member

Yeah--they may have been legal, but they looked a bit scarily young.

    An error on my part.
I shall not bother you with them again.
I know you have more important things to do.
Posts to censor and people to ban:p

please do not bring infractions back
it was juvenile and it was like being in school.
Besides the point that not every mod shares the same reasons to fract or not to fract
So I say fuck the fract
we are doing ok without it IMO

No infractions means no more bitchy PMs demanding to know WTF I got infracted
followed by even bitchier PMs justifying my behavior and demanding a retraction,
...but it also means that when the banhammer is ready, I won't see it coming.

    win/win

That kind of sounds kind of what an all volunteer ad hoc team of moderators might do. Why would anyone ever expect that on WWP?

And i don't take it for granted.
I am grateful for the time money and effort put in.
But getting back to the decision making process,i thought they would have had a framework for basing them on:ie rules/guidelines.
Of course some rules are common sense eg: no threatening posts.
But as it stands i don't know what the official rules are.
That's my 2 cents and i will leave it at that
    Here have one of these.

    ^ Thanks.

I'm not busting your chops, just making a point. Right now there are people crying out equally passionately for both more and less guidance.

It's sometimes a thankless task, but don't let the bastards grind you down.
Compared to other forum's WWP is by far more lenient then many.
