How about doing something that doesn't involve an image thats copyrighted as well as an overused and unfunny meme?

The Aperture logo and design. I'm not personally motivated to make tshirt designs. Been there and done that. If I have an idea I think is good enough that I'd be driven to make, I might. I have stuff possibly in the works but I'm smart enough to know that you don't share them on here plus they are better suited to what I'm good at and what motivates me.
When I found that pic, it claimed no copyright. It might be, I'm not 100% sure but from what I saw it wasn't. Its similar to the aperture logo yes, but its also similar to a 007 looking down a gun barrel as bond turns and shoots the guy. If its a copyrighted work, then source.
I'm pretty sure that has a copyright claim on it. It's a pretty well known logo and design in the game community. Where did you find it? Pretty sure you didn't ask valve. The reason why I'm saying that is, if someone were to decide to make a (better designed) tshirt off of that, and Valve were to find it, I'm sure they'd put in a claim to have the shirt taken off the store. Also that quote is even from Portal.
Yes I know, I'm a huge portal fan. These designs that I'm posting are not up for a store, just ones that i'm making for myself. I found a few t-shirt sites that let you design them. I'm making them for fun, not to produce a huge line of clothing to be sold for prophet. Besides, it obviously is a knock off of the aperture science logo but it isn't it. And if I wanted to quote a game, who the hell cares? Do you think game and movie companies copyright every sentence of a script? or a musician copyrights every line they write individually? That's bloody ridiculous. I asked for a copyright source of the anony pic. I saved it a long time ago so I don't remember where it is.
Actually, they do. I'm not trying to make a big deal about this, cause the odds of you making these shirts, let alone making them for sale, is pretty slim. I'm just stating the problems you might come across with them (besides being horribly designed.) if you were to have them made. Not at all. I'm giving critical and useful critiques of things, if people want to move forward and actually do something with them, altho I doubt any of these shirts made by OP will ever see the day of light on cloth. I'm a professional artist who has worked in many fields and there's a standard that people come to expect from things, whether its making signs, designing graphics/flyers, or making shirts. The problem is most of the stuff people are posting on here is completely useless and waste of their time. This section has standards, and they aren't living up to them when people post really shitty shoops that take them less than 10 minutes to make. There have been some great, and sometimes incredible, art and design pieces made for Chanology and Anonymous. Sadly, not lately. If people want questions about how to make something in an image manipulation program or a video program, they are more than welcome to do so and really should. I myself would be more than willing to help teach people who want to get better at things like photoshop, illustrator and traditional art skills. Problem is, people don't ask, put up crap and expect others to praise them for their shit stained and effortless work.

Anonymous is not a professional association; deal with it. I'm a professional artist too, but I don't expect anyone to give a fuck. You are of course welcome to your standards and, as you well know, are welcome to attempt to impose them upon anyone here who is willing to let you--but they remain your own. Meanwhile, back in Anonyland, people do not need credentials to present ideas, and they sometimes present them sloppily. Fixating on the sloppiness of the presentation rather than the merit (or lack thereof) of the idea actually comes off more as self-indulgence than productivity. There is lots of well made, special art on the internet, some of it by and/or for Anonymous. There is also a strong tradition of really witty/funny/interesting ideas expressed crudely but effectively by amateurs. Both of these categories are completely valid in context. After your own self-presentation what makes you think that anyone would feel comfortable asking you for help? Now that you have actually made the offer maybe someone will take you up on it, but don't baw because no one could detect the golden heart hidden in your troll robes.

You miss my point. I judge them on the design of it as well as the skill shown to make the image. If the design idea is good, Ill just make some comments about how to make it better skill wise. Good ideas can shine through even crappy execution. I'm well aware of the online comics and I personally do enjoy them, but I see those as stylized actually and the ideas that come from them are pretty good and funny. My issue isn't so much that the execution is sloopy, but that the design isn't good. The execution becomes an issue when the design is shit too. Look, I'm giving you fair criticize on your stuff, as well as others. If you don't like people criticizing your ideas, don't post them. This is an art and design subforum. Expect comments and critiques.
I realize the importance of refining your work, if that is what you mean...... And continual critique and assessment of that whole process is a part of it.
(the LOL in this, which you could probably appreciate, is that it's usually the most talented and innovative artists who are the harshest on their own work) a certain element of perfectionism is par for the course, when it comes to quality work. ...imo, it helps to point out the good stuff as well, so that one can embellish that aspect.
Ever obsessed over the "flaws" in a painting for months on end, only later to finally realize and relax and see that it was actually pretty cool, just the way it is, however it serendipitiously it turned out? Maybe that's the moment when the fear of being harshly critiqued met with the surprise of another seeing the beauty in it, and offering a nice compliment or acknowledgement.
I would love to learn more about Photoshop and digital SLR photography in general. I am impressed that you are knowledgeable about these things. cool

This thread obviously caught my eye, but I'm sad to say that everyone's efforts appear lame when compared to all the awesome T-shirt designs I have in my head. You're all doing it so wrong.
