....what deathampster said, and as renewal times for URL's lapsed, you-know-who claimed them (i believe). The site is still in an archive state @ http://www.xenu-directory.net/mirrors/www.whyaretheydead.net/ or shortcut: http://whyaretheydead.has.it
The registration is still good to May 2014, so CoS probably doesn't have it. (The registrar should reset the create date if it changes owners, but they usually don't.) CoS has whyaretheydead.com, whyaretheydead.org, and whyaretheydead.us.
Track it down and I'll take it and pay for it and love it, and keep it out of the cults hands, but I do not have time to build it fresh currently. All I can do it is put up something really generic like this: http://atlanon.net/List-of-Deaths.php and I'll even admit that is lacking and it needs to be updated.
I found a remarkable site that I somehow missed in five years of Chanology: They Should Not Have Died It is far better laid out than Why Are They Dead? where you have to scroll down and don't get an overview of all the names. It is laid out more like the Big List of Former Members Who Have Spoken Out with an alphabetical listing of names of people who have died because of Scientology. Each name has a short blurb about the deceased, and many have links to sources. There are about 500 names on the list. Included are many suspicious deaths so there is really not enough data to confirm that Scientology was at cause in their deaths. Nonetheless, there are hundred of names where this is probably the case. It is a blog and so arranged that you can easily pull up names in several different categories. Basically the categories are: Deaths due to cancer because Hubtard claimed he could cure cancer. Deaths due to medical neglect Deaths due to suicide Death due to violence "Accidents"
