If I had 30k laying around I would 100% do an insider investigation and go to the CON for treatment. Anyone wanna fund it? ha, I'm kidding.....sort of

Bad idea unless you have espionage/acting training. It's harder to convincingly play a role 24/7 than most people think.

The commissioner from the Department of Community Health says "Licensing doesn't regulate fraud" in response to Mr. Combs questioning the whole inpatient vs. outpatient thing.

I don't know whether I should /facepalm or cry. Somebody in ATL needs to verbally bitchslap that fool.

The question then is: who does?

No, but it sure as hell is intended to prevent it.

You can always join staff of the Narconon. They are desperate for people. Somebody from WWP almost joined the one in New England. They were offering him a desk job - selling Narconon packages to people.

Just to explain what's happening here - Narcnon Israel does not exist. No money, no license. So they approach families of drug addicts and tell them - you can help your son to kick the habit at home. No rehab is needed. All you need is to learn touch assists.
This particular footage is interesting, because it is clear that the person behind the camera who is directing the woman is a Jewish Israeli, while the patient is Palestinian (or Palestinian Israeli). It is known that Scientology was having huge difficulties reaching out to Arabs in Israel and Palestine, so I guess though "Narconon" they can score a few points (the Arab population is quite plagued with drug use over there).

Easier and cheaper to equip someone already starting the program to record and smuggle out the data.

BTW, touch assists are 100% bullshit.

I like the whole, "Narconon Employee" route better, as it's sure to make OSA paranoid.

But then I would be having to sell the bullshit and perpetuate the insanity and I just can't, even if for the greater good. The CON did offer Cat Marnell from over at Vice all expenses paid rehab experience....I would pay lots of money to hear her reaction. I should email her.

I agree, but it seems that their investigation happened mighty quickly after the news story. It took a 3rd death in less than a year for Oklahoma to investigate criminally. Everyone knows that there have been 7 to date so why weren't the first six investigated even if it was just to be on the SAFE side? Although I do understand that all of the things you mentioned seem like they could've definitely spurred things along in Georgia, the comparison was just my first reaction because I wish to God that every one of those lives had been saved.

edit: what part of dealing on site do we have an M/U on?..

It's true story. When the dude called, they were all over him, because they were so understaffed. At the end he could not be bothered. But it's not that difficult to get a job with Narconon, so it seems. I mean they pay very little, nobody wants to work for them, and they constantly use abusive language against workers. That's why their only employees are former addicts, graduates from their program. So before they'll hire you, they will probably put you on the cans, but here is the thing - cans don't work on non-believers. They tried their stupid pinch test on me and the needle did NOTHING. So if you're bored enough - Narconon can use a few employees. And I heard Narconon parties are da bomb.

Sec checks all around, won't out our operatives.......now if they were to do butt-checks all around, that would be a different story. It's amazing how small recorders are these days, and where you can put them!

Agent Anonymous you are out of line in so candidly giving away state secrets. Report to the Marcab Mothership on planet Omicron Phi immediately for punitive action. That is all.

And hopefully not the vitamin bomb type. Those aren't any fun.

But seriously, Narconon parties have plenty of drugs at them, so you are guaranteed an out of body experience.

You are right, Oh Great One, I was out of line..........

Does this mean my bonuses are in danger????

Please don't tell my generous sponsers.......

    It's virtually undetectable.

The only way it can be detected is if you stand on head, completely nude, and laugh for 39 seconds or longer .....will cause it to eject into the air. Just keep your pants on, and you should be OK.

October 3, 2012 - Lucas Catton told Flesicher he knows the Narconon drug treatment program better than almost anyone. He went through it as a student, and then rose to be become president of the Flagship Arrowhead facility in Oklahoma. "Is it what it pretends to be? Absolutely not," said Catton. "Narconon is, essentially it is Scientology."

    October 3, 2012 -
Channel 2 Action News has already noticed a change to Narconon International's website since an investigation exposed the organization advertising its Georgia program as a long-term residential facility. Now the wording has been altered and does not indicate which type of facility it is.

Cook said he would consider asking legislators to include drug rehab facilities in last year's expansion of Georgia law toughening regulations on nursing homes.

To be fair, I think Mary Reiser was saying she turned to her "church" for personal ethical advice, not for orders. However, who writes up a detailed report about shit happening at their job for their pastor to review?
    • Agree Agree x 1
  35. Missfit Member

Wait a second, if he is in a treatment program, his files are to remain between the treatment program, the law officers, and the patient...so if she was turning to her church for moral advice, why did she name these people specifically and give lots of details about them and their cases? Now there is something to ponder.

    (just pondering out loud...)

Well, since Reiser can't talk about the specific case to the media because of patient confidentiality, does that mean that the entity she does talk to, the criminal organisation known as the "church" of $cientology, is part of the "treatment" given to the patient? How many categories of entities are there: Those who are treated (the patient), those who do the treating (the doctor etc) and the general public (which does not have right to know anything). Right? So, in which category does the Co$ fall?

My point exactly. IANAL but confidential information being shared means that either she A. broke confidence or B. Scientology is a direct link to supervising this case, if not the entire facility.

    A. Would mean she personally could be sued. B. would mean...well....I think you know :D

If you are discussing an individual's medical issues with an outside party - sounds like a HIPAA violation to me.

    HIPAA Violations and Enforcement

Failure to comply with HIPAA can result in civil and criminal penalties (42 USC § 1320d-5).

    Civil & Criminal Penalties
The “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009”(ARRA) that was signed into law on February 17, 2009, established a tiered civil penalty structure for HIPAA violations (see below).....up to $1.5 million and up to 5 years in jail.

How to Report HIPAA Privacy Violations

    Bryan Clark

The Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) was designed to put patients at ease over who accesses and shares icon1.png their personal medical information. HIPAA sets a national standard that dictates who can access your patient information and allows you to file a complaint if your information is compromised. The penalties of violating HIPAA are quite severe and can result in expensive fines or the loss of a business or medical license for repeat offenders.

THIS MUST BE DONE WITHIN 180 DAYS OF WHEN YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT THE HIPAA VIOLATION!!!

    http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/complaints/index.html
    How To File a Complaint

If you believe that a covered entity violated your (or someone else’s) health information privacy rights or committed another violation of the Privacy or Security Rule, you may file a complaint with OCR. OCR can investigate complaints against covered entities.

COVERED ENTITIES - A covered entity is a health plan, health care clearinghouse, and any health care provider that conducts certain health care transactions electronically. For more information, please review our Understanding Health Information Privacy section or look at our responses to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on our web site.

COMPLAINT REQUIREMENTS - Your complaint must:
    1. Be filed in writing, either on paper or electronically, by mail, fax, or e-mail;
    2. Name the covered entity involved and describe the acts or omissions you believe violated the requirements of the Privacy or Security Rule; and
    3. Be filed within 180 days of when you knew that the act or omission complained of occurred. OCR may extend the 180-day period if you can show "good cause."
ANYONE CAN FILE! - Anyone can file a complaint alleging a violation of the Privacy or Security Rule. We recommend that you use the OCR Health Information Privacy Complaint Form Package. You can also request a copy of this form from an OCR regional office. If you need help filing a complaint or have a question about the complaint or consent forms, please e-mail OCR at OCRMail@hhs.gov.

HIPAA PROHIBITS RETALIATION - Under HIPAA an entity cannot retaliate against you for filing a complaint. You should notify OCR immediately in the event of any retaliatory action.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR COMPLAINT - To submit a complaint, please use one of the following methods.
If you mail or fax the complaint, be sure to send it to the appropriate OCR regional office based on where the alleged violation took place. OCR has ten regional offices, and each regional office covers specific states. Send your complaint to the attention of the OCR Regional Manager. You do not need to sign the complaint and consent forms when you submit them by e-mail because submission by e-mail represents your signature.
