youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Okay, how about flagging "Violent or Repulsive Content -> Shocking Or Disgusting Content" I mean, is that a lie? Sane, informed individuals the world over would agree: this video is both repulsive and disgusting.

    However, as far as video replys, how about this as a theme: "What Anonymouses have to say about Anonymous" Parody the fuck out of what these people say in the video, replace Scientologist/Scientology With Anonymous, and the stupid stuff they say with funny bullshit and/or meme references. Doing it with a Guy Fawkes mask = priceless. Seriously, we need to get in front of our webcams, do a little collection of clips like these people and have someone with editing talent put together an edit which even emulates the editing of this video.

    edit: I'm at work now, but I'm going to put something funny together. Need to make this a collaborative style creative Anonymous driven circle-jerk of humor.

    Yeah, need some good video makers to parody these using Anon references and such, that would be funny.

    0/20 here, never appears =)

    That scientology recruitment commercial IS spam by the way, so flagging it is the proper thing to do.
    Edit: Parody = Win

    Just went to their "Terms of Use" section - this could be useful...

    TL;DR ahead
    ----------
    D. You agree not to use the Website, including the YouTube Embeddable Player for any commercial use, without the prior written authorization of YouTube. Prohibited commercial uses include any of the following actions taken without YouTube's express approval:

    * sale of access to the Website or its related services (such as the Embeddable Player) on another website;
    * use of the Website or its related services (such as the Embeddable Player), for the primary purpose of gaining advertising or subscription revenue;
    * the sale of advertising, on the YouTube website or any third-party website, targeted to the content of specific User Submissions or YouTube content;
    * and any use of the Website or its related services (such as the Embeddable player) that YouTube finds, in its sole discretion, to use YouTube's resources or User Submissions with the effect of competing with or displacing the market for YouTube, YouTube content, or its User Submissions. (For more information about prohibited commercial uses, see our FAQ.)

    ---------

    being that the COS is a profit-based organization that charges money for all services, is this flaggable?

    I ask fellow Anonymii to scour their terms of use to find something to get them on.
    I don't doubt the COS has done the same to us in the past. :rant::sad:

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Your only real method of retaliation is to pay to get one of our videos promoted.
    No. They don't get advertising/subscription revenue because nobody subscribes to them (HAHA). And they aren't working to gain it.

    All kinds of products pay for advertising, spotlighting, featuring, and video promoting. They're out to SELL THEIR PRODUCT, not to get subscription or ad revenue.

    They need to get the fuck off our internets, for sure.

    I'm wondering about the prospect of using anonymously pooled dollars to buy a "promoted videos" spot on the site supporting our message.

    * the sale of advertising, on the YouTube website or any third-party website, targeted to the content of specific User Submissions or YouTube content;

    The scientology channel has been constructed only to counter Anonymous and XenuTV. Could this be reportable?

    Cut and paste from the YouTube thread in GD. Here's my new tactic. Feel free to use it:

    New approach:

    Email I just sent to YouTube (in particular their ads division):

    If you are sending an email like this, for the love of god use different stories. There are tons linked in the BN thread about the Freewinds. Pick one.

    Guys, recently my C-Span frenzy actually paid off.

    While watching a special on Internet media they had the politics guy from Jewtube on.

    He was talking about Director accounts/ Sponsors can see Demographical Information on visitors. Is It possible they set this up as a low level honeypot? Because i really doubt anyone besides anon is going there. :tinfoil:

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Ya know, the CoS is payin' for this crap, so let 'em bleed.

    Also, flaging it is useless as it won't do any good as it's basically a paid for ad, and will make flaggers look all waaaaa and pussified.

    What pisses me off more is CNN and others eating up the spoon-fed CoS press-release and reporting it as "news"... Asbestos on their freakin' luxury liner/school is news. This is just BS.

    Ya, the T00b licky-sucky their advertisers, but fuckem. If CO$'s ad/video efforts on YouTube are actually producing more than a trickle of suckers - I'll eat my shoe. I think the channel is there to boost $cifag morale of those who have access to the T00b.

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    I flagged the linked video for "other dangerous acts"

    i.e. Cult recruitment is a dangerous act, for sure. Which is why it is so absurd that YouTube would accept money from them in the first instance. It certainly does not help the cause that Google/YouTube would legitimize this cult by taking their advertising money. This is worse than when they took money from Al Jhazeera, because although Al jhazeera may report events in a perspective favorable to terrorists, Al Jhazeera is not the terrorists themselves.

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Am I the only one that's overjoyed that Youtube is getting its pockets lined at CoS's expense while Anonymous is spending 0 dollars, where SOP for CoS would be to shutdown Youtube and Google altogether?

    I for one am glad that Google is a pretty cool guy, eh lists CoS critical Youtube vids, doesn't efraid of anything

    That being said, MAN THE HARPOONS

    Their loser channel (and all the sockpuppets being set up to subscribe to it) are exactly why everyone needs to stay active on YouTube.

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Flagging will do nothing, emailing them whining about how it breaks the rules will do nothing, and emailing them instead of just fucking flagging them will do nothing.

    Youtube's business model is simple - make shitloads of money. Theyre not going to turn down 200,000 dollars because someone is pissed at someone.

    Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    Let's start focusing on fellow Youtubers who have been generally supportive. I'm sure there are bunches of progressivefags who are vehemently against corporate censorship, and this would hit a huge nerve with them.

    It's like, what if the Catholic Church had a sponsor account with Youtube, and admins started suspending accounts which want the church to stop supporting sex offender priests? It's pretty much the same thing with Scientology, except we want them to stop a lot more (including the church itself).

  37. Re: youtube promotes scientology on their home page

    That's all good, but we need a plan of action. We need a non-anon approach to this. Posting a video with synthesized voice and some clouds will get us nowhere now.
